He was taken aback, as if frozen in place. I don't know how I managed to keep a straight face while he merged into the crowd, as though he were a prey hiding away from a predator— me, in this case. In a matter of seconds, he was gone for good.
I looked back at where Lumine stood, or perhaps it would be better to say where she used to stand, because she wasn't there anymore. I sighed as I scanned the winery once again, searching for Lumine. Surprisingly, she recovered quickly and was now... dancing with another stranger.
I mentally hit myself.
That idiot never knows how to stop being so reckless.
I quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the dance floor, ignoring the calls of the new guy she was dancing with, then I pulled her behind the counter.
"Sit there," I said, gesturing to the stool at the corner of the counter. "And don't move."
She followed my order and sat on the stool, crossing her arms and shifting her gaze to the floor after doing so. Lumine didn't hesitate to show me how bored and upset she was. She was just like a little child acting all upset after not being given strawberry milk.
If only I had a rope to tie her with...
That attractive guy wanted to take advantage of her not once, but twice, and she didn't seem to care. Why isn't she in a state of shock, or at least a bit angry, scared, or sad?
One obvious thing was that she seemed to be using all her energy to fight against any logical thought.
After I poured a drink for one of my customers, I turned back to Lumine. Not surprisingly, she had left her seat. Surprisingly, she didn't go to the dance floor, but instead, I found her drinking another customer's abandoned drink.
I sighed.
This is going to be a long day.
And I seriously need to find a rope.
That was her fourth drink within two hours. She's probably hungover right now, so I can't allow her to drink any more.
After many hours had passed, almost all party attendees left after thanking me. Some of them stayed behind to clean up after others, and, of course, I thanked them for their appreciated efforts. It was almost midnight, and I could tell that people genuinely enjoyed the party. Many people ended up coming to the party at night since "wine is more enjoyable at night" and "alcohol hits differently in the dark", according to them. Anyway, the party was definitely a success, and I would probably host another party soon, however, this time, everyone would be invited except Lumine.
Finally, everyone left the party and I remained with a heavily-drunk Lumine.
She probably can't walk safely anywhere, so I can't just allow her to walk back home while she is in this terrible state.
