JENNIFER

A month had passed; Anna didn't reply me. Every morning, I checked my phone for missed calls or unread texts from her. I got nothing. Honestly, it hurt but I did deserve it. I was a bitch to her so I understood. I did not deserve to have someone as sweet as her as a friend but deep down, I didn't stop hoping that she'd reply. I prayed about it every single day. I was willing to be patient. If she doesn't reply, so be it.

Nevertheless, I had been working on the charity event. In less than a month, the event was going to take place. Preparations were ongoing and that made me and the guys get closer; especially me and Jason of course. I got the pictures from Jason last month so I had already uploaded pictures of the bar and restaurant sections, the pictures of when it was a beach house and after the renovation, and the pictures of the bosses. There were not enough pictures of Jonathan and Dennis making drinks by the bar so I advised Jason to make a few videos of them making drinks because I needed to upload those pictures too. On the day that Jason decided to shoot them which was on a Saturday, I was there, watching the entire thing. Trust me, it was chaotic. As much as they all owned the bar, they weren't as experienced as Jason was when it came to making cocktails, mocktails, and the likes.

I suggested that they each made cocktails professionally. Jonathan went first, he made 2 glasses of Sex on the beach that looked so beautiful which means he did well but Dennis? A case. It frustrated me and Jason so much that instead of begging him to make the cocktails, we asked Jonathan to make a video of him serving us the drinks and practically begged Dennis to smile while serving us. After 3 takes, we got the best video. I was tempted to drink the cocktail but I had to control myself and left Jason to drink them. After all that, I told them to stay behind the counter, luckily, they were all wearing Bri's restaurant and bar T-shirts so I told them to strike different poses while I took pictures of them. The pictures came out well and we called it a day.

"I can't believe it is 4 pm already," Dennis said, shocked.

"We were making videos and taking pictures all day. That is time-consuming." Jonathan said.

"Well, true. I hope we aren't taking pictures or making videos again today. I'm tired." Dennis yawned and I smiled.

"No, we are done. The event is in a month so I don't think there is anything else needed except that you prepare well. Since the event is going to take place here, I suggest you get ready. It is not going to be easy but best believe you'd have fun." I said. The guys nodded. Dennis and Jonathan said they were tired so they went upstairs to rest leaving Jason and me downstairs.

"Are you hungry? I could whip up something for you." He said as soon as they left.

"What do you have?" I asked. I was so hungry.

"Jollof rice and fried chicken?" These words made my tummy growl. I nodded my head and he went to the kitchen to get the plate of food. As soon as I saw it, my mouth watered. It looked so palatable and one thing I loved in my jollof rice was carrots garnished all over and he got that right. I dug in immediately.

"Aren't you going to eat?" I asked with my mouthful.

"Nah, I'm not hungry, not yet." He responded, watching me wolf the entire meal down. The chicken was outstanding, I didn't know what he put in there but it was perfect. A solid 10 out of 10. The food itself was a solid 10 out of 10.
"Do you want more?" He asked. Oh, I did, I did but I shook my head. "No, thanks. I'm good." He nodded and took the plate into the kitchen.
