"Of course, mama, I'll stay safe. Okay, love you, goodnight." Alayna says to her mother on the phone before she hangs up. She throws her phone onto my bed before slipping off her overshirt.

"Do you wanna borrow my shirt?" I asked her, walking over to my wardrobe and flinging it open. Alayna nods her head, so I pull out an oversized grey shirt and throw it at her, watching as it flings into her face before she catches it.

Alayna glares at me playfully before she pulls off her crop top and slips on the shirt I gave her. After peeling her shorts down her legs, she pulls back the covers on my bed and jumps into my bed, grabbing her phone. I join her, resting my head near her shoulder as she scrolls through her phone, watching random videos.

Then, her phone starts to ring and Willow's name pops up on the screen. Alayna sighs before answering, pressing her phone to her ear. "Hello?"

I can kind of hear what Willow is saying due to the close proximity of us both. "Hey, girl. I just wanted to check in on you and make sure everything's okay. How're you doing?" She asks, and Alayna sits up, running her spare hand through her curly hair.

"I'm actually in London, right now- yeah, I'm with him." Alayna says, looking back and smiling at me. "Actually, he's planning on coming back to Haywood, but he'll have nowhere to stay." Alayna tells her friend and there's a brief minute of silence before she speaks again. "Wait- really? That's... that's amazing! I'll ask Dawson and see what he thinks. Yeah, thank you so much. I'll see you later." She says before hanging up. Then, she's squealing and jumping on top of me, hugging me.

"What happened?" I laugh, wrapping my arms around her waist and holding her towards me.

"Willow might have just solved all of our problems. Apparently, her boyfriend, Ennis, has a spare room in his house and his mum is looking for someone to rent it." She grins, wiggling her eyebrows at me. "I'm thinking you could rent it out." She tells me, but I shake my head.

"I quit my job, Alayna. I have no money and there's no way for me to afford it-"

"I can help. Trust me, I'm sure your old manager will let you have your job back, and we'll be back on track in no time." She tells me, shrugging her shoulders. I poke my tongue onto the side of my cheek.

"I'll think about it." I sigh, and Alayna tilts her head at me. She presses her lips together and rests her head on my chest, gently running her fingers across the side of my neck. I drag my fingers up and down her spine, my other hand in her hair.

During the two months I was away from Alayna, I had missed her so much. She was the only thing on my mind and I found that nothing else mattered if I didn't have her beside me. I had applied to University, but I wasn't planning on going. I don't even know what I want to do with my life. I don't even know what my future holds for me.

I only know one thing. Alayna will be by my side. She'll be with me through everything and we'll hold each other up when life knocks us down. Even right now, we're just in each other's arms and we don't have to say anything but we both feel safe.
