One year, 6 months later: Hama Oasis

Exactly two years have passed since I left the Leaf village.

During this period, I trained in Hama Oasis and also traveled most of the Land of Wind with Sachi—even venturing into the Land of Stone.

Turns out Sachi is really into the history part of teaching, and I've learned a great deal about the land and its people.

Although I've adapted to the climate and culture of this land, Sachi, Ren, and Yuta all agree I'm very obviously from the Land of Fire.

The main reason: I dress a little differently, that's all.

Over the few months, my skills have developed greatly.

I can now produce bolts of lightning at desired targets, and I can also channel already existing energy from one place to another—no longer needing to use the static of woolen gloves as a base.

Once, Sachi even had me stand out in a storm to attempt to be struck by lightning; I'll never forget that experience.

I've had more intense training.

On several occasions me and Sachi had tried to draw out the power locked behind the strange seal on my back, but to no avail.

According to Sachi, the seal prevents any contact with the stored power, but that doesn't stop us both from trying.

With a little research, Sachi determined that there is a way to remove the seal, but she can not figure out how.

There isn't much left for Sachi to teach me, and I know my time in Hama Oasis grows shorter and shorter.

Me and Sachi discuss my return to Konoha on several occasions, but today Sachi seems more intent about it than usual...

"You know, Ki..." Sachi tells me as the two of us walk down the dusty streets, groceries stacked in each arm.

"I am old, and I am wise, but I am not a lightning user and there is not a lot I have remaining to teach you." She admits, giving me a weary glance. "Do you think it is time for you to return home?"

"Nope." I smile thinking of all the fun I've had in Hama Oasis.

Of course, me and Sachi know a lot about each other.

She knows of my history in Konoha, and she has told me of her ninja way.

Thus, Sachi knows my heart's answer, whether I say it or not.

"You have been here for a long time, and the desert welcomed you and brought you to us. But you are not a ninja of this land, and I believe the land you belong in will need your assistance in these times." Sachi says seriously.

"Probably not," I say sadly.

How could someone like me help my land?

"Do not worry about an old lady and some children with their heads in the clouds. We all have our roles to play, and yours is not here." Sachi says, deciding to leave the topic at that.

I've considered my stay here over the past few days, and I'll admit that I've expended this town of its resources pertaining to my ninja training.

It is high time I head home.

"Ki, you told me why you came to this village, but you never did tell me why you left your home," Sachi asks quietly.

I give Sachi a sad smile, casting my eyes towards the sky.
