RECAP: I fought Naruto and had to sleep over at Choji's house.

I wake up to Naruto whacking me with a pillow. "Ki!" His eyes are wide as he fanatically pulls his shirt over his head.

I look away from his bare back to see that Shikamaru, Choji, and Ino are still asleep. The curtains are still drawn over all the windows, but it can't possibly be earlier than 5 a.m. judging by the disoriented feeling in my head.

"We're late!" Naruto grabs my arm and begins to drags me, blankets and all, towards the door.

I'm about to ask what we're late for, and then it hits me. Kakashi Sensei's survival exercise. I lazily fix my hair and rub the sleep from my eyes as Naruto drags me into the hallway.

After a few minutes of panicked whispering and tripping over my friend's sleeping bodies, Naruto and I find our things and burst out of Choji's house as quietly as we possibly could have in our disarray.

"I'll meet you there!" Naruto tells me as he slides his shoes onto the wrong feet. "I need to go get my gear from my room." With a wave, he takes off in the direction of his apartment.

Sleep-dazed and dressed in what I think might be a mixture of Shikamaru's and Ino's clothing, I'm left in the middle of the street still trying to figure out what just happened. I shake off my bewilderment and run back to my own apartment.

Once inside I immediately change into more comfortable clothes and look for my gear. Feeling prepared, I grab a few other necessities, and exit through my open window. Judging from the feeble sunbeams beginning to shine over the horizon, I feel like I can make it to the training grounds at an acceptably late time if I sprint.

I drop swiftly to the ground from my window and head towards the training area. Maybe I should come up with an excuse in case my new sensei is upset... I just got caught in a frenzy battle with ninjas in pink and green suits, throwing shuriken at each other like machine guns. I think someone died at some point. "Naw."

I smile at my own thoughts and slow to a casual walk as I near my destination. It would be better to look purposely late then unprepared and nervous. I arrive to see Sakura and Sasuke waiting by themselves at the entrance of the training grounds.

Sakura seems too caught up in watching Sasuke to notice me, but the boy acknowledges me right away.

"Hi guys!" I smile and wave excitedly as I walk up.

Sasuke gives what is either a nod or a twitch, and Sakura smiles slightly at me. I notice that our sensei hadn't arrived yet, so I decide to save my awesome excuse in case I'm late again. I hear feet pounding behind me, and I barely manage to avoid collision with Naruto.

My blonde friend screeches to a stop exactly where I'd been standing moments before, and he breathes heavily as he waves a hand in greeting.

"I..." he panted. "...am here!" Now all we need is Kakashi! Naruto quickly straightens himself and looks around. "Where's sensei?" He asks as he scratches his head.

Sakura huffs and crosses her arms. "He's obviously not here yet, Naruto." She says, clearly displeased.

Naruto looks around with a frown and then scowls. "He's later than me!" About an hour passes, but there is still no sensei.

Naruto sits down on the ground next to me, and Sakura joins him. I Fidget, but stay standing. Soon enough, Naruto is drifting off into sleep, Sakura seems on the verge of going home, and Sasuke is as bored-looking as ever. Another eternity passes, and Sasuke has finally sat down as well.
