"Maa bhai aur bhabhi ghumne gaye hongey, aap fikar na karey", Maryam consoled a distraught Maa Begum, it's been two days and they had no idea where the two of them went.
"Murtasim mera call humesha uthata hai, meri ijazad ke bina woh nahi jaaskta", Maa Begum denied, she was worried as doubts crept in her mind. Something similar had happened to her a few years ago, when Maryam had ran away.
"Hosakta hai woh log Waqas Chacha ke paas rukey ho...", Maryam said as she sat beside her mother, but Maa Begum quickly cut out the possiblity, "Waqas ko call kiya tha maine, dono ka koi pata nahi"
Maryam was biting her nails worried, what if something catastrophic took place? Did the killer get to them?
"Allah mere dono bacche meri jaan lene par kyun tuley huey hain!" Maa Begum exclaimed as the call didn't connect, her only son who just got better was missing along with his wife.
"Maryam, Hasan ko kuch pata hoga..", Maa Begum said with a hopeful look, right now she only wished for her son and daughter-in-law's safety. Maryam quickly got on her feet and called Hasan, "Beta tumhe kuch pata hai, Murtasim kaha gaya hoga?" Maa Begum asked.
Hasan himself was trying to trace the two of them, but couldn't find their location. What if he Murtasim had believed Mahjabeen's words? But that wasn't possible, if it was, knowing Murtasim's temper he would have shot him dead in a second. He was a pretty straight forward guy, not the type to scheme or play mind games, but their absence was unsettling him.
"Nahi Maa Begum", Hasan replied and Maa Begum sighed in defeat, she was in a weak mind state, Hasan noted. A person was the easiest to manipulate in this state, she would believe whatever he said to her.
"Maa Begum bura nahi maney toh ek baat bolu", Hasan started, trying to grab her attention, he was reading her expression, the desperation on her face answered his question before she did.
"Haan bolo"
Hasan crouched down on his knees so he could make eye contact with her, to make what he said next believable, "Mujhe kuch waqt se ye mehsoos horaha hai, mera andaza hosakta hai ye magar aapko ye baat jaan ni zaroori hai"
"Hasan khulkar bolo saaf lafzon me kya bolna chahte ho", Maa Begum said irritated, she didn't had the time, her son was missing, he could be dead right now.
"Mujhe lagta hai Mahjabeen iss ghar me khush nahi thi, maine usse kai dafa Murtasim se boltey huey suna hai ke yaha se chaley jaatey hain", Hasan confessed with a solemn expression on his face, he had indeed heard her saying this but she said that in a hysterical state.
"Magar kyun?" Maa Begum questioned not understanding the reason behind this, Hasan had successfully manipulated her.
"Uski abhi dasvi khatam hui hai, aagey diploma ke liye usse Hyderabad jaana hoga shayad isliye. Aur Maa Begum uss din jo woh bolrahi thi ke maine.." He cut off sniffling not able to say, "Apne khudke bhai ko maarne ki saazish ki hai, theek hai mujhe bura nahi laga. Magar Maa Begum kal aapke upar aur bhi aise ilzam lagaye toh, aur Murtasim ko toh jaanti haina aap, apni biwi ki har baat manta hai"
Maa Begum stood up her hands were trembling as she suppressed her anger, with bloodshot eyes she said "Mahjabeen ko aaney do yaha"
Meanwhile the two lovebirds were living their life in peace, the kiss had brought them closer not just on a physical level, but emotional as well. Mahjabeen was back to her shenanigans, on the second day since she was unable find him anywhere, she wandered outside.
In the dark night, he sat on the large stone where they had shared their kiss, he had a solemn expression as he sat there all alone. Mahjabeen didn't understand why he had woken up in the middle of the night to sit on a rock all alone, his face was clouded with grief as if his lover had left him for someone else.
"Shayad woh humein bhul gaye ho, magar humne bhi apne pyaar ki photo copy kardi hai", Mahjabeen said loudly startling him, the pack of cigerattes he held fell down and Mahjabeen realised that with Murtasim Khan, her biggest rival was the pack of cigerattes. She ran quickly and snatched it before he could blow one.
"Mahjabeen tum itni raat ko jagi hui ho", he asked a little embarassed, he felt anxious because the police report would come back tomorrow. Some fingerprints were retrieved from Shahzad Khan's body before his death, but they didn't match with a single person in the village. The bullet with which he was shot and Shahzad Alam were from the same gun, and such gun was owned by two people. One Malik Zubair and the other Hasan, Murtasim wholeheartedly wished it was the former, because he couldn't bare the thought of the person he had trusted and respected all his life as an elder brother to be a murderer.
"Itne udaas kyun hain?" she asked sitting beside him, the expression on his face was heavy with sorrow. He didn't answer so she sighed and passed him a cigarette thinking that it was the reason behind his sad face , "Allah aapne mujhe iss cigarette ki sauthan banakar accha nahi kiya"
Murtasim couldn't help but laugh at that, "Accha chod dunga"
Mahjabeen went silent as she asked him sadly, "Murtasim tum mujhe chod dogey kya", the question caught him off guard and he shook his head pulling her closer to him.
"Tumhe kisne boldiya ke mai tumhe chod dunga, Qayamat tak saath rahunga tumharey", His voice was filled with love and determination, trying to ease the doubts that had crept into her mind.
Mahjabeen felt emotional when he said that with so much love, she caressed his face and when he thought she was going to kiss him, whispered in his ear.
"Aesehi cigarette peetey rehey na, toh aapki Qaymat bohot jald aayegi"
