I couldn't help but wonder
Why can't I feel my leg?
I started to panic.
It had only come to me after she left.
Was she the real specialist?
Was it Toga?
I lifted up my blanket to reveal my leg, perfectly intact and not bleeding. Why couldn't I feel it if it was perfectly fine?
I tried pinching my leg, smacking it, and moving it. I couldn't move it either.
I grabbed my phone off my bedside table and started googling possible conclusions.
Nerve damage? Yeah probably.
Paralysis? If there's nerve damage, probably.
Stroke? Nah I feel fine.
I turned off my phone because it was at fourteen percent, and I wasn't trying to waste my battery by googling possible conclusions to why my leg wasn't working right.
I noticed a few red spots starting to form under my elbow. Maybe I'm having an allergic reaction to a medicine they gave me.
I'm not allergic to any medication.
I started feeling dizzy too.
My head hurts more now.
I looked at my heart monitor.
My pulse was high, my blood pressure was high, and everything else was high.
I pressed the call button on my bed and a nurse came into my room.
" What's the matter honey?" The nurse asked.
" My everythings high and that's not normal" I told her.
" That is odd, do you feel any different?" She asked.
" My leg is numb, and there's little red dots under my elbow. I also feel kinda dizzy" I replied.
" Your leg is numb? Can you move it?" She asked.
"No"
" I'll be back with a doctor, alright?"
I nodded and she left.
My leg started tightening. Muscle spasm?
The dizziness was about to make me throw up.
Was this the end of my eleven year old life?
I guess I lived an okay life with all my friends. I'll miss Sam, Nicole, Lucy, Al, cayden, Miles, Gianna, maribelle, and Maya.
Should I end it all here? Should I give up?
I grabbed my phone and opened Messages.
Emo man ( Aizawa )
You: I think I'm going to die soon. I don't want you to come here though. Keep teaching the brats. And who knows? Maybe I'll see you tomorrow.
Emo man (Aizawa): are you okay? Are you sure I don't need to come over?
You: I'm sure. If this is it, I just wanna say thank you for everything.
Emo man (Aizawa): Alright. Hang in there for me, okay?
I closed my tabs and turned my phone off.
I could hear the buzzing of the text messages and missed calls from Aizawa.
What if this really was the end?
My heart monitor was rapidly beeping, and I don't know if I should even be awake right now.
I closed my eyes and hoped for the best.

Nobody really knows what happens when you die. Nobody's ever come back from the dead to tell anyone what it's like. We can only assume what the afterlife is like.
The nurse grabbed a doctor.
when the doctor got into the room, he watched as once alive Aria lay in her hospital bed, blood dripping down the side of the bed.
" I NEED HELP IN HERE!" The doctor yelled.
Two more doctors came rushing in, assessing the situation quickly.
" I don't know what's happening!" One said.
" Me either. Could it be a stroke?" The other asked.
Then she snapped back to reality and she was fine.
Her leg was now bleeding through the stitches. She was getting paler.
She started a high fever.
"Infection?" The doctor asked.
" The knife used was never found. They know it was a switchblade because of the way it entered the body" the other doctor said.
" So it could be?"
" There was no sign of infection"
" Temporary paralysis, maybe full?"
" Already ruled out paralysis"
" Damaged nerves?"
" There was a severed nerve in her leg. They can't tell which one it is, but they know something was severed"
Aria was sitting on her bed criss-cross applesauce, somewhat enjoying a rocket pop.
" I love it and I hate it here" she said, unaware that Aizawa was standing in the doorway.
"Aria," Aizawa said.
" Hey dadzawa"
" Where'd you get that from?"
" The nurse that favorites me"
" No, the name,"
" Oh. Because right now I currently don't have a dad, you're my closest thing to a dad"
" Aww, that's sweet" the nurse that loves me popped her head in.
Aizawa smiled.
"Glad your feeling better"
" Oh no, I feel like trash. I have a fever, and if you haven't noticed, I'm as white as a ghost"
" Are you sick?"
" I don't know. Probably, I'm in a hospital with other sick kids"
" You look fine"
"Is that an insult because of how pale I already am?"
" No, it's not"
" Is 1-A ever going to visit?"
" They put you in the system, Aria"
" The hospital system?"
" No, Aria. The adoption system. You'll probably get adopted soon"
" And it's gonna be you, right?"
" I can't take any kids in. I'm a hero. You should know this"
" What about my cousins?"
" They're in the system too"
" So we won't be together?"
" There's a high chance you won't get adopted together. There's an even higher chance you all get adopted separately. They put you in after the incident after deciding the amount of blood you've shed was enough, and they want you guys to be safe"
"We'd be safer with you. And plus, Emma and Sam can go to the daycare/nursery thing. And I could get a better hold of my quirk"
" It's complicated, Aria"
" Everything's always complicated. I haven't been going to UA for a week, and I'm already in the hospital"
"Aria, your cousins have already been adopted"
" What?"
" They were adopted, and you should be able to see them a decent amount of time after you get adopted"
" So am I going to an orphanage?"
" No. You'll stay here for now. You already have a living situation set up, so you'll stay until the people adopting you want to meet you"
"I didn't agree to this"
" Nobody really did. Nezu doesn't like how you're always getting hurt by others here. He also wants you to be safe"
"I understand. But what I don't understand is the fact that one person signed off on it and it's alright?"
" That's how it works"
" Yeah, no. Where I'm from, an adoption means you go to an orphanage and the people adopting you see you and then you go back for a few weeks to process the child purchase which may I add is over one hundred thousand dollars"
" It's not 2023, Aria"
" And we're not in America, I know"
" I have to leave, I'll see you tomorrow. Get better, alright?"
" Alright"
Aizawa patted her head and left.
She smiled sadly.
" I guess I'm alone for the rest of my life"
