Music class first thing on a Tuesday was always fun. It's even more fun when your teacher is late and you're sitting with your band mates and playing guess the song. That was where William Noel's sat alongside his newly found friends, Rose, Jesse, his current friend/partner - Richard, and his half friend half enemy - Mike. They were sat at the front of the classroom with Will in the middle with Richard on his left and Mike on his right. Both were watching him closely for two different reasons.

Richard had his eyes on him all morning, smirking and winking at him whenever he thought nobody was looking. Any chance he got, he'd whisper something into Will's ear. It would be anything that came to Rich's mind. Anything at all that he knew that would make Will weak at the knees. So badly, they wanted to break out of the classroom and just smother each other again with kisses just like the day before. It felt so good though.. Will never imagined that he'd be kissing the drummer of Mike's band. Mike's band. Not Will's band, as Richard keeps referring to it as. Whenever they talk about rock music or the band, Richard always says that it's basically Will's band now because he's the lead singer. He disagrees, though. Very strongly he does, but he doesn't tell Richard.

Mike kept his eyes on Will and Richard like a hawk. He had to make sure they weren't going to make out half ways through class. That would be very bad for the band's popularity. Will joining the band has caused their Instagram page to get more followers, so.. Mike hated to admit it, but Will was helping the band's fame. The others were right about Will, he was actually good for the band. His vocals helped his case also, they were amazing and Mike couldn't help but love his voice - it would be the only part of Will he'd ever love.

"Oi." Mike heard Jesse say. "What are you staring at them for?"

Mike looked at him and rolled his eyes.

"I saw them yesterday.." Mike whispered to him, quietly. "They were.. They were kissing yesterday outside the school. Nobody saw them.. thank god."

"Why would it matter if anybody saw 'em?" Jesse muttered back to him.

"Well.." Mike replied, thoughtfully. "We'd lose some popularity.. y'know 'band full of queers'. Nobody would want to listen to us then."

"Not everything is about popularity, Mike." Jesse told him. "We've got to have a bit of a laugh as well.. and friendship."

"What's this? My Little Pony?" Mike laughed, sarcastically. "This isn't all sunshine and lollipops - this is fucking rock and roll. It's a band, we don't all have to be friends."

"Well, you could at least try to be more friendly with Will!" Jesse snapped, quietly. "You should see the way he looks at you half the time.. he just looks so happy."

"He's happy out now, flirting with Rich." Mike told Jesse. "He's fine with us not having a friendship. I hate him, fucking hate him."

"Why?" Jesse asked, being very straight forward. He sat up straighter in his seat and looked Mike in the eyes. "Why do you have to hate the best thing that has happened to this band?"

Mike froze and thought for a second. Why did he hate Will? Well, there were many reasons why his blood boiled whenever he saw William Noel's.

Will reminded Mike strongly of his parents. The way he was so popular and got every single thing he wanted at school. He could come to class at any time he felt like and have the excuse that he was talking to his hurling coach about an upcoming match. Every teacher believed him and left him come in late. Mike's parents were always late. It didn't matter what the occasion was, but they were always late. For Mike's seventh birthday party, they arrived half way through  singing "Happy Birthday" and scared Mike which led to him bursting out crying and running out of the party centre. Why were they late? Well, Mike's parents were two of the most famous journalists in the world at the time. They spent all of their time flying to different countries and interviewing movie stars and musicians that Mike would love to meet. They weren't even bad parents, they were just never there for him. That's how Will felt to Mike. He wasn't a bad person, he just felt as if Will would never be there for him because he always had something better to do. Mike was just a side quest to Will's main goal in life. He couldn't imagine Will once he left school. He couldn't imagine Will having a life, or even a career after school. Will wasn't exactly extraordinary at anything besides being a dick. Well, his voice was pretty amazing. Where could that take him, though? This band wasn't going to last forever, Mike knew that. It would probably end once each one of them left for college. Mike would be off to art college in Dublin, learning the ins and outs of being a painter (which he already knew).
