The midterm flew by fast for Will. He spent most of it out of the house, even at night. Most of it was with his friends - Elton, Tori, the band and Mike. Oh, Mike. They hung out only three or four times during the week off, but it made Will feel high as a kite. Between band practice and just hanging out with the other popular people from school, it was fun. The way they mocked each other, but didn't actually mean it. The way they nudged each other just to let them know that they were there for one another. It felt.. good, but it would never be any more than that.

Monday arrived in a flash and there was William Noel's again in his natural habitat - the classroom. He talked and talked to teachers and students. He rarely got in trouble, but he still had less than a month's worth of detention to complete with Mike and Richard. Luckily, it was a completely silent detention - well, it was meant to be anyways..

Entering the empty classroom where Will had made out with random girls millions of times, he nodded to Mike as he checked the teacher out. Mr. Stewart. It was possibly the only teacher in the school who had it out for Will. His balding head shined off the ceiling light and blinded Will's eyes. His wrinkles showed off as he frowned at Will and ordered him to sit down. Nodding again, Will looked into his hazel eyes and smirked. This will be fun, Will thought.

Sliding in a seat beside Mike, he nudged his knee against Mike's under the desk. Smiling at him, he noticed Richard who sat behind them was staring at the two of them. Turning around, Will gave him the middle finger and slipped his arm by his sides innocently. Looking over at Mr. Stewart, he saw him glaring at him. This was going to be a long hour, Will told himself.

Softly, a piece of paper was placed onto Will's knee. Trying to hide his prideful smirk, Mike coughed into his ear. A smile on Will's face appeared as he took the piece of paper off his knee and opened it up under the table. It read; "To Will, I drew you a picture of Freddie Mercury a couple of weeks ago. You may have not realized back then, but it was for you. From Mike". Under the short letter was the picture of Freddie Mercury that had been posted on Mike's Instagram two weeks ago. Two weeks ago went by fast - too fast. Only two weeks ago they were band mates and only band mates. Now, here they were sitting side by side in detention with a smirk on their faces.

They had detention again on Tuesday with the same teacher. He frowned even more at Will this time as he entered the classroom and sat beside Mike again.

"You're late." Mr. Stewart told him, grumpily.

"I was busy talking to.. my hurling coach." Will lied as he patted Mike on the back lightly. "He needed to talk about my upcoming match."

"You won't be going to that match, William." Mr. Stewart replied, smirking. "As long as you have detention, you won't be going to any matches or trainings."

"What?" Will gasped, standing up again with his hand on Mike's shoulder. "Why? You're leaving Richard go to his after school clubs, why can't I?"

"Don't question me or else it will be a month and two weeks!" Mr. Stewart snapped, standing up himself and pointing at Will. "Do you want it be in a room alone without your sidekick?"

"I'm not his sidekick!" Mike muttered, rolling his eyes.

Will and Mr. Stewart looked blankly at Mike. A proud smile appeared on Will's face as he patted Mike's shoulder while sitting down.

"If I'm getting an extra two weeks, so is he." Will said, putting his arm around Mike.

"Fine, ye both have an extra two weeks of detention." Mr. Stewart told them, sighing and laying back in his seat.

Mike stared at Will and pushed him roughly, a small frown on his face.

"Did you think that was really going to work?" Mike whispered to him. "You fucking twat!"

The two could hear Richard snickering behind them. Pissed off, Will was about to get up and beat the shit out of Richard for a second time. Luckily, Mike was there to hold him down and stop him from getting himself into even more trouble.

"You should be lucky you haven't been expelled, fag." Richard told Will, loud enough for only Will and Mike to hear them. "I wouldn't leave you in this school with the state you are in. You won't be popular for long with an ass like that!"

Again, Mike held him in his seat and kept his eyes on him. They looked at each other, making sure that the other was alright. Giving Will a small smile, Mike nudged Will lightly.
