Chapter 14 Just Pure Innocence

The first week of school went faster than Will expected. Yes, his timetable was full of boring classes, but other things took his mind off them. One of those things was Madden. Wherever Madden was, Will somehow bumped into him. If it was at the corridor at lunch or if he was subsisting a class that Will was in, they always seemed to find each other. Luckily, Mike was only in his music class so he didn't have to see Will in his other classes checking Madden out as he taught the class. Will couldn't even remember what they were being taught because he was so transfixed on how good looking Madden was.

Will didn't know what Madden was thinking at times, but he often caught him staring at Will when they were meant to be doing class or when Will was walking around the corridors with the band or Elton. He stared back though, he just couldn't help it at times. The way Madden's lips would creep into a smile made Will feel almost as good as when Mike first started taking notice of him at the start of the year. This wasn't cheating, right? Will and Mike didn't really have the chance yet to talk about their relationship because they were still thinking about Tori. She still hadn't turned up. Nobody had heard from her. Her Snapchat account hadn't been used since the day of Will and Mike's first gig. People were starting to get worried.. Will should of been worried, but other things were on his mind.

Music was last thing on a Friday, which was now terrible for Will because Mr. Stewart could keep him back after class for detention. Their actual teacher had gotten COVID.. Will thought COVID cases were gone, he hadn't heard anybody have it for ages. It was 2024 after all, like.. COVID was so two years ago in his opinion.

Will sat in his new usual seat beside Madden, he hadn't seen him since yesterday so he was glad to be with him again. Why? Will didn't have a clue, he was just glad to have somebody beside him who wasn't Mr. Stewart or worse, Richard.

"Hiya." Will greeted him, sitting down and throwing his bag under the desk.

"Hello.." Madden muttered, scribbling notes into his notebook like usual, he seemed busier than ever today. "Good day?"

"Yeah, yeah." Will replied, taking out his music book to start doing pages 120 to 132. "You?"

"Better now that you're here." Madden said, a bit quieter than the last time he spoke. "Want to know what I have planned for my next music class?"

Normally when it came to teachers asking Will things like this, he wouldn't care, but today he couldn't help but be curious. He wanted to talk to Madden in anyway possible, and this was one of these few ways he could.. for now at least.

Nodding his head, he leaned back into his seat and listened to Madden's voice. He wasn't taking in the words, he was just listening to the way Madden pronounced his A's or the way he dragged out his E's. He couldn't help but smile to himself as Madden started rambling on about how music affects movies, like how in Oppenheimer it makes it more intense and it makes you pay more attention to the movie because you feel apart of the movie. He listened and found it interesting even though it wasn't Will's type of interesting.

"Were you even listening?" Madden asked once he was done, his hand on Will's lap for the second time this week (or basically ever).

Looking over at him, Will watched the innocent smile on his face turn into a smirk as his finger rubbed the inside of Will's leg slowly. A teacher never got his attention in this way before, but Will couldn't help but like it. What would Mike think? Will tried not to think of that, he wanted to enjoy his time with Madden. Anyways, Mike and him weren't even officially dating yet.

"Yeah, yeah - it was, um.. interesting." Will stuttered, trying his best to focus on Madden's face and not his hand that was slowly getting closer to-

Unexpectedly, Will stood up. Everybody turn to face him and Will laughed it off awkwardly.

"Thanks for leaving me use the bathroom, sir." Will improvised, looking down at Madden for him to reply.
