Drought rested his arms and leaned against the railing. The balcony was quite small, with an even smaller railing to keep someone from tumbling over. At its best, it could withhold Thought.
The night was crisp. Not a soul was out- Besides what was left of Group 7125 B. A couple crickets chirped away. Although there looked to be no one out, Drought covered his face with a hood. You could never be too-cautious.
Everyone was back inside. He could imagine Ji-ho or Atlanta as they made some ridiculous joke. Everyone would probably laugh- Well, maybe not Thought. She'd be too preoccupied in her thoughts on how the elderly couple might try to kill them all.
Sure, Drought was a bit skeptical of the couple. However, it was no where near how... Concerned Thought was.
Why was she even named Thought? For the most part, it seemed that Thought never thought. She just spewed out words.
Drought sighed, 'I shouldn't think badly of Thought- Even if she is a bit of a brat,'
His mind wandered to Edge. Edge, poor Edge. Her scream continued to echo in his head. The look of confusion and terror that spread over her face; how fast she was to cover her burn...
He shook his head, 'Bah, why am I thinking of her at a time like this? I'm a prince, not some farmer-boy trapped in love. It's ridiculous! When are Flame Tribe villagers farmers?
It doesn't matter anyways. Once I fix this all, I'll become Droplet Tribe's only heir once again,' A small part of Drought knew that he would miss Edge, but it didn't matter.
What could he do about it anyways?Drought sighed. He pulled himself up onto the railing. From there, he easily pulled himself onto the roof.
Only once he was on top, did he see a ladder. "Oh well."
It was a flat roof, with a small hut on the top for what he could guess was for shelter. Plants were sectioned off, but they overflowed and spilled across the pathway. He could name a couple: blueberries; strawberries... The rest seemed foreign.
Well, it wasn't Drought's job to look after the plants. Drought's job was to learn how to rule. Which at the moment, was paused. The thought of him with Flame Tribe abilities- Of him being a Mismatch -scared him.
It was even worse since he had gotten Flame Tribe abilities. Flame Tribe and Droplet Tribe had never really gotten along. The two contradicted each other in many ways- One of the easiest to see was how Flame Tribe lacked discipline, and Droplet Tribe did not.
Suddenly, Drought was alerted by the sound of someone as they climbed up the same way he did. It broke the peaceful aura of the night was broken. His rounded eyes flashed to the incoming being.
"Drought?" A very recognizable voice asked.
She continued, "What are you doing up here?"
"Just enjoying the sunset." He lied.
He was here to actually escape the noise. "The noise" was mainly Thought. She had been bothering him with how he might be a "threat" for a couple of days now.
He turned the question around, "What are you doing up here?"
"Just coming to check out the plants, I've been up here a couple of times," Edge replied.
Drought smirked, "If you've been here a couple of times, then why'd you not use the ladder?"
He said it as if he had not done the same thing. Apart of him was amused at this. The other wanted to see if Edge was going to lie or not.
By the looks of it, Edge seemed confused. She spun around a couple times. Drought laughed- Then she raised an eyebrow at Drought.
"There isn't a ladder, is there?" She asked; she raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, there is. I'll show you," Drought nodded; a grin spread across his face where there usually wasn't one.
Drought led Edge back to the porch. He waved his hand by the ladder. A "Hmph!" came from Edge. Drought nodded as if he had always known it was there- In reality, he hadn't seen it either.
"Well, doesn't matter. My way is the funner way," Edge joked.
Drought was about to agree with her. He, then, remembered that he was a prince. "'Funner way' is an idiotic way," Drought huffed as he turned away from her.
Edge looked hurt, so he added, "You could get hurt," in a more-hushed tone.
"Yup, hurt." Edge sighed. It was mainly to herself, but Drought's ears still caught her words.
'The closer you get to her, the harder this'll all be once it's over,' A corner of his mind whispered, and he knew it was probably right.
Still, he watched as Edge sauntered over to a section of plants. She tentatively cared for each plant- How was a Flame Tribe girl this good at gardening? Sure, her family were farmers, but Drought always saw them as taking care of animals rather than animals and plants.
Droplet Tribe had been helping Leaf Tribe grow their plants grow their plants for what felt like since the beginning of time. Droplet Tribe gave up some of their water to help Leaf Tribe grow their plants in times of droughts. In exchange, Leaf Tribe offered up some of their crops in times of famine for Droplet Tribe.
However, Drought still couldn't make out any plants besides a couple basic types. Meanwhile, Edge could easily tell each plant with a small glance. Many Leaf Tribe villagers, like Acacia, didn't enjoy Flame Tribe villagers around their crops or items. They were constantly concerned of a fire being started.
Drought heaved himself up again after he discovered he had sat back down. He moved across from Edge. He watched the fleeting sun with tired eyes. Both options weren't the best: Either he stayed here with Edge, or he went back inside and had to deal with Thought.

2 reasons why this chapter was split:
1: Pretty long (in my opinion) and hard to keep track of
2: I kept on getting distracted, and had to split it up into 2 parts because a lot of time had passed since I had started writing
Number 2 is more accurate than 1, but eh
The other half should already be released as you're reading this, as will Chapter 13
