Annabeth's POV
"Are you serious?" I yelled in disbelief when Chiron told me that I couldn't get close to Percy just because he was a boy. I understood the camp's rules, but when I learned that Will had been assigned to guide him, I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. Percy Jackson, the rich, strong, and handsome demigod, held a unique power that made him the key to our victory in the war. And I was determined to have him on our side, whatever it took.
As I was about to confront Chiron, a melodious laugh echoed through the air, capturing everyone's attention. I turned to see Percy laughing heartily, with a proud smile on Will's face. Anger surged within me. How dare Will make Percy laugh? I clenched my fists, my possessiveness for Percy intensifying with every passing moment. He was supposed to be mine.
Chiron then called out to Percy, "Percy, my boy, you awake?"
I observed a flicker of recognition in Percy's eyes.
The transformation in me was undeniable. Gone was the sweet and witty 12-year-old I used to be when I first arrived at camp. In her place stood a manipulative and calculating daughter of Athena, driven by the desire to seduce Percy and make him join our cause under the banner of Kronos.
Dismissing my attempts to flirt with him, he calmly walked over and sat in the chair across from Chiron and Lord Dionysus, completely ignoring my presence. It infuriated me. How could he ignore someone as intelligent and desirable as me? But I knew I had to bide my time and play my cards right.
"Chiron, the trainer of heroes, should I greet you? Or should I thank you for saving my life all those years ago, Mr. C. Brunner?" Percy spoke with a confident yet measured tone, his words striking a chord within me.
Will couldn't contain his curiosity any longer. "Hold up! How did Chiron save your life?" he interjected.
Percy shrugged, his nonchalant demeanor only adding to his mysterious allure. "Long story short, he took me and my mom to the hospital after... after the incident."
Will nodded, but I could tell there was more to the story. As if sensing my curiosity, Mr. Dionysus hardened his gaze, allowing glimpses of his true nature. I yearned to know more, to unravel the secrets of Percy's past. But the warning glances from Mr. Dionysus and Will reminded me of my place. I had to be patient.
Putting on a false smile, Chiron suggested, "Annabeth, my dear, why don't you go check on Percy's bunk? We'll be putting him in Cabin 11 for now."
"Sure, Chiron," I responded, my disappointment hidden beneath a facade of obedience. As I winked at Percy, hoping to leave an impression, I turned and hurried away toward the cabin.
Inside Cabin 11, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. Percy's rejection of my advances had stung, but it also ignited a fire within me. I couldn't let this setback deter me. Instead, it served as a reminder of the challenge I faced. Percy didn't fall for me right away and I couldn't let that stand.
In that moment, I resolved to prove him wrong. I would use my intelligence and manipulative nature to slowly work my way into his heart, to become someone he couldn't resist. And when the time came, he would willingly join forces with me, unaware of the darkness lurking beneath my charming facade.
As the shadows of Cabin 11 embraced me, I closed my eyes, envisioning the future I would shape alongside Percy Jackson, the boy who held the power to change the course of our destiny.
AN: this is an apology chapter for my shitty writing in the past.
