A/N: I have made some changes to several of the previous chapters. You might want to re-read them before you read this chapter...especially those of you who love Leo. I've added in a good bit more of what's running through his mind....and other things lol

(Alexis' POV)

"Sweetie, will you get that please!" Dad calls from his office seconds after there's a knock on our front door.

"Sure!"

I put down the book I was reading on human-werewolf matings and make my way towards the front door.

According to the book, Leo and I are they only mated pair where the male is human. Ever since our date two days ago I've been researching human-wolf pairs, trying to get as much information as possible.

It turns out that the majority of wolves choose to change their human partner to wolf. Although it can be very dangerous, and the chance of survival is slim, it's practically another step in mating.

Humans age much quicker than us so if the human partner isn't changed, the wolf would be left without his/her mate for decades. The small chance of survival is enough incentive for them to risk the change. Plus, because they are different species, the pair can't be correctly mated, therefore the need for the change is even greater if they ever want to be truly together.

"Coby," I say when I open the front door to find the Alpha's son standing there.

"Um, hi. Can-can I come in?" He asks nervously.

"I suppose." I turn and lead him into the living room, wondering what on earth he could want.

I take a seat on the cream two-seater sofa beside our large bookcase. Coby moves to sit beside me, but changes his mind last second and instead sits on the armchair across from me.

I raise my eyebrow at him in silent questioning and before he starts to stutter out an explanation for his visit.

"I-I want to apol-" He clears his throat. "Apologize for the other day."

"For what?"

Coby sighs before replying. "For just expecting you to be okay with us mating."

I frown but remain quiet as he continues to explain himself.

"For as long as I remember, Dad told me that you were to be my mate. The idea of me mating with another wolf was foreign to me."

"But what about your own mate?" I ask.

"Honestly, I don't know. I guess I never even thought about her." He winces at the thought, as though it's painful for him to think of his past reactions towards his mate. "It's horrible, I know, but to me, I was going to mate you so there was no point even considering her."

"And what about now?"

"Now, I actually have a chance of mating with her so I can look forward to it, whereas before, I couldn't. Now, it, no offence, makes me sick to think about mating with you."

"You do know I wouldn't have mated you, right?"

"Yeah, I guess deep down I did know, but I never wouldn't have allowed myself to believe it."

We sit in an awkward silence before I finally manage to break it.

"What are you going to do now so?"

"About my mate? I'm going to look for her. I may not be the next Alpha but I'm going to treat her like my Luna."

He blushes softly as he speaks about finding her and I can here his heart rate pick up slightly. He reminds me of how I react when I'm around Leo.
