Chapter Twenty-Two

(Leo's POV)

I wake up, slightly dazed and glance around to see I'm in some sort of hospital room. I frown in confusion, wondering how I even got here in the first place.

Something in the back of my mind is telling me that something huge has happened. Why do I get the feeling that I should be in pain right now? Why do I get the feeling that everything I ever knew is about to change?

I hold my breath when I hear footsteps heading down the corridor towards my room. Something takes over me, and I start to panic. I stumble out of bed, ripping wires from my arms in my haste to hide. I hear the footsteps right outside the door and I quickly move behind the door as it is pushed open.

The woman stops short as she enters the room. Her shoulders drop as she takes in my now empty bed.

"Leo?" She calls, hope clear in her voice.

I gasp as I feel my heart race the second my name leaves her lips. She spins on her feet, instantly facing me. A smile breaks out on her breathtaking face when her eyes meet mine.

"Alexis," I whisper, slightly unsure as to why her eyes are scanning me, almost as if she's scanning me for any injuries, or harm. I take a step towards her. "What am I doing here? What hap-"

I close my eyes and inhale deeply, almost moaning at the exquisite smell that fills my senses. She smells of vanilla, cotton and a hint of lavender - pure heaven. My eyes open once more and a sense of nothing more than pure love and lust takes over me.

"Mine!" I growl out, moving closer towards the beauty in front of me.

I pounce on Alexis, knocking her to the floor. I straddle her hips, looking into her eyes in adoration. She looks back up at me with shock filled eyes, her brown hair is sprawled around her on the floor, almost acting like a halo around her beauty.

"Mine!" I growl again before leaning forward, instinct taking over me and I sink my teeth deep into her neck.

Alexis arches her back under me, letting out a loud scream of pain. I moan in pleasure as her sweet tasting blood hits my tongue. She writhes beneath me for almost a minute in pain, before a loud moan of pleasure escapes her lips too.

I smirk against her neck at the sound, digging my teeth in further. She grips my shoulder as we both feel our bond strengthening.

I extract my teeth and lick her mark clean before placing a soft, loving kiss on her lips. Alexis takes slow, deep breaths beneath me, her eyelids fluttering open as she regains her composure.

I feel like I've been hit by a ton of bricks when it sinks in what I've just done to Alexis. I scramble back off her and continue until my back hits the wall behind me. My eyes widen in horror as I take in the huge, swollen red mark on her neck.

Alexis whimpers as she moves towards me and my heart practically shatters at the sound.

"Leo?" She whimpers, confusion and pain visible in her gorgeous, chocolate brown eyes that I've grown to love.

"I'm so sorry!" I gasp out. "I-I don't know what came over me!" Tears fill my eyes as the reality of what I've done continues to sink in. I bit her! How the hell could I bite her! How could I bite her and enjoy it! "I'm so sorry!"

"Shhh," Alexis coos, pulling herself across the floor towards me. She climbs onto my lap and wraps her arms me, pulling my head against your shoulder. "It's ok, I know it's hard to understand but I'll explain everything, I promise."

"But I bit you!" I whispered weakly. I wrap my arms around Alexis and pull her close, my face now buried in her neck as I inhale her intoxicating scent deeply.
