My heart dropped to my toes and then seemingly even further than that. He was alive, I had gathered that much. Bellamy carried him to the dropship ship as I followed, not leaving Finn's side for even a moment. Clarke firmly told Raven to hurry up and fix the radio so that Clarke could talk to her mom, she didnt think she would be able to save him on her own, and that scared me.
Bellamy layed Finn on a metal surface and I grabbed onto Finn's limp hand, squeezing it, wishing I could do something for him. Anything. I felt useless. I'm not Raven and im definitely not Clarke. They can help him and im just here.
"Can you save him?" I asked Clarke. I was terrified. I couldnt even pretend to hold myself together.
"Yes- no...i dont know!" Clarke looked stressed and confused. "I need to talk to my mom. I've never done anything like this by myself."
My heart dropped even lower. Whether Finn was my friend, or potentially anything more than that, I cared about him more than I had ever cared about anyone else in my life. Which wasnt saying much, considering I didnt really have anyone else in my life.
Only a matter of feet away Raven was practically yelling into the radio. "This is Raven Reyes calling Ark Station. This is Raven Reyes-"
Please please please someone answer. Please. I knew that Raven was probably more invested in saving Finn's life than I was, but a part of me wondered if there was anything more she could do it get in contact. Don't think like that. If there's anyone in the world who wants him to stay alive its her.
But then a thought crossed my mind. What if Raven was upset with Finn? Maybe she thought our relationship had progressed further than it had. We had been spending every second together, and since she had arrived she had seen that.
What if she wasnt really trying to get into contact with the Ark? What if she wanted him to die? I shook my head. You're being insane and paranoid Elina, stop it.
"Are you sure you have the right frequency?" Whitley asked Raven. Somebody get her out of here for fuck's sake.
Raven glared at her. "Yeah. I'm sure."
"Raven, you've got this." Clarke put her hand on Raven's shoulder, squeezing it lightly before walking back over to Finn and I. "Can you help me take his shirt off?"
I nodded my head. This wasnt how I had imagined things would be the first time I took his shirt off. Stop thinking like that, its not funny.
She had wrapped some cloth around the wound, seemingly to soak up the blood. She fussed with it until it was positioned "correctly". The knife was still in him, she refused to take it out without talking to her mom.
A voice came over the radio. "This a restricted channel. Who is this? Identify yourself."
Everyone in the dropship looked at each other. She did it. Oh my god. She had gotten in contact with the Ark.
"This is Raven Reyes, from Mecha Station." She called into the radio. "I'm transmitting from the ground. The 100 are alive. Please you need to get Abby Griffin. Now!"
Moments passed, but if felt like forever, before a woman's voice came over the speaker. "Raven, are you there?"
Clarke looked stunned. The woman must have been Clarke's mom. Raven handed the headset over to Clarke, knowing how important this would have been for her. "Mom?"
