Lisa finished the drawing, rubbing her hands on any piece of paper to remove excess ink. A smile slowly graced her lips. She knew that Jennie liked her drawings, but she had never made a letter for her.
She placed the folded paper on the table next to her bed and sat on the floor, holding on to Teddy to try to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling that made her stomach clench badly.
She closed her eyes, hugging the teddy bear tightly and began to sway her own body. Rocking back and forth, slowly. Different from what many thought, that calmed her down.
The sound of the doorbell invaded her ears and she raised her face a little, remaining still, but attentive to the sounds.
I hear voices; she knew that her mother's was one of them because she had listened, but she couldn't recognize the other because she was muffled. The conversation was fast. Then she heard the front door being closed.
She frowned and returned to accommodate her face in the belly of the stuffed animal, resuming the monotonous movement of her body.
"Lisa, honey?" Her mother's calm voice sounded as soon as the door was opened.
She raised her head slightly and saw something strange in her mother's eyes. She tried to look over her shoulders and smiled when she saw Rosé. She also had a strange look, however.
"Hello, ball."
Her tone was also strange. Everything was strange.
Mainly due to the fact that Jennie was late.
Lisa watched the two whisper to each other, as if she wasn't there. She shrugged her shoulders. She always passed.
But not when Jennie was around; she never let others ignore her presence.
"Honey, Rosé came to talk to you about something important," Anne said. "Stay calm, okay?"
She raised an eyebrow as Rosé slowly sat down next to her, showing her a smile. Strange.
"I missed you, Lis," and then she wrapped her in a hug.
Lisa smiled and returned the affection of her form, hearing the girl sigh.
"W-where is Nini?" She got up, going to her bed and taking the paper from the table, "I made... I made a present for Nini!"
Rosé exchanged a quick glance with Anne, who remained sitting on the bed, a bit worried.
"Watch out, if you don't get those inky little hands on it," Rosé said teasingly, pulling the paper out of Lisa's hands and laying it on the bed, still folded. "Come, let's wash you, then I'll tell you what happened, okay?"
"Happened...?" Lisa started to move, "Wh-what happened? Where's Nini?"
"Lisa," her mother called her attention, "what did I ask you honey?"
"Keep c-calm," she repeated the words to herself.
"That. Stay calm and let Roseanne talk."
"Come on?" Rose asked. Lisa nodded, extremely frustrated.
Already in the bathroom, with the ink being removed from her hands by Rosé's and the tap water, Lisa felt that everything was strange again; Jennie was the one who washed her hands when they were stained with ink, only her and no one else.
"Where is Nini?" She repeated the question hammering at her mind.
"You have to stay calm so I can explain everything, okay?" She sighed, squeezing the washcloth into Lisa's hands.
