Gloria's hips swayed to the pulsing beats blaring across the club. The neon lights illuminated her bodycon sequined red dress.
"Woohoo!" Her friend, Agnes, shrieked as they twirled around the room, singing at the top of their voices.
Gloria let out a loud laugh and stumbled to the bar on the other side of the room.
"Hey, Nelson!" she shouted to get the attention of the bar attender.
He looked up and smirked. "Want another shot?"
"Of course." She cackled. "You know whiskey is like my water."
He chuckled and shook his head. Moments later, he handed her a glass of whiskey.
"Thanks, Sugar." She winked and emptied the glass in one gulp. "Another one." she stretched out the glass to him and he refilled the glass.
Three shots later, Gloria's vision was blurry and she couldn't sit still.
"I think it's time for us to go," Agnes pulled on her arm and Gloria let out a groan.
"Finneee!" she slurred and staggered to her feet.
Agnes tsked. "You are such a mess."
Gloria giggled. "I'm a happy mess."
"Whatever. Let's go." Agnes dragged her towards the exit of the club.
A gust of wind slapped Gloria's arms as they reached outside. She barely noticed as Agnes helped her into the cab. Her body jerked as the car zoomed forward.
Her eyes became heavy and she let out a yawn.
"Don't fall asleep until I drop you off," Agnes said from beside her.
Gloria giggled. "I will try but no promises."
Her heavy eyes darted to the window and her body tensed as the car slowed down in front of a church.
"You know I was supposed to go to church," she said. "At least that's what I told my parents."
"Are you serious?" Agnes gasped. "Then you can't show up at home drunk."
Gloria hiccuped. "I know. But I can easily sneak in." A mischievous smile played on her lips.
"I hope you succeed because I don't want to get into trouble." Agnes huffed.
"Don't worry you won't." Gloria leaned her head against the headrest and her eyes slowly closed.
Several minutes later, Agnes woke her up and helped her out of the car. Gloria managed to wave Agnes goodbye before staggering to the back of the house. Creeping into the house proved to be difficult because of her unsteady steps and blurry vision.
After much struggle, she reached her bedroom without drawing attention to herself
I escaped again.
A satisfied smile graced her lips.
Without bothering to shower and change her clothes, she stumbled into bed and sleep immediately claimed her.

"You know it's JJ's birthday party this evening and we are all invited," Linda announced to Agnes and Gloria two days later at their school's cafeteria.
