Sobahle

If this man thinks that us sleeping on the same bed will change my terms and conditions then he is just lying to himself.

"Are you sleeping with that?" He says pointing at the silky night dress I'm wearing.
"Yes, do you have any problem with this nightie?"
"Sobahle you are sleeping with that and then you expect me not to fumble or get hard."

"If my memory serves me correctly there are 6 unoccupied bedrooms in this house, but you chose to sleep here even when you know my terms and conditions."

"But Sthandwa sam you.."
I cut him off
"I suggest you sleep in another bedroom, if you won't be able to keep your hands to yourself Bukhosi."
"Ok I won't do anything you don't want me to, come let's sleep."

"Bukhosi I'm serious."
"I won't do anything, now come to bed."
I get on the bed and say my prayer before laying my head on the pillow.

"Princess Sobahle Zulu how are you?"
Ro and Mabusi use the title unnecessarily to just tease me.
"I'm fine Mrs Modise wena unjani?"
"I'm good skat, Motho wame o kae?"
I don't which one she is referring to because Ro likes all the Zulus men and women.

"He is at home Kwanongoma."
"I'm not talking about the king, ke bua ka lekau larena Bukhosibomvelo."

"He went to  the office."
"Mhm, so are you guys ok now?"
"We are getting there Ro."
"Wena you can't leave that handsome man, kana I now have a free vip pass to royal events and galas because of your mirrage."
I laugh trust Tirelo to say this.

"Haibo Ro what if I'm not happy, would you, rather enjoy the benefits on my expense."
"Mma if you are not happy Mvelo will hotspot you and how can you not be happy when you, have a handsome husband like Bukhosibomvelo."

"Wee Ro you love things my friend."
"On a serious note are you happy Sobahle, is he treating you well?"
Ok we are no getting serious.
"I am happy and he is treating me well, even though I'm giving him a tough time."

We talk for a while before we end the call, talking to Tirelo always lifts up my mood. She is already asking when will have the maternity photo shoot, to officially announce the pregnancy to the public, we will have the photo shoot but we will release the photos when I'm ready.

"Afternoon bhuti'Ntsimbi."
"Yebo nkosazana."
"Can you please take me to Edgecombe if you are not busy?"
"We will leave when you are ready MaZungu."
I quickly go inside the house and get ready, once I'm done we leave. I'm going to see my mother-in-law.

"Hlehle unjani ngane yami?"
She says the moment I get off the car, engulfing me in her warm embrace.
"Ngi'right Ma wena unjani?"
"I'm fine sisi, you should not be traveling this much in your situation your husband will complain."

"Ma uBukhosibomvelo will be fine, I can't stay cooped up in the house for months."
"Let's sit in here." She says opening the door to the pajama lounge.
"How is the pregnancy treating you now in the second trimester?"

"It's been amazing even though there's ups and downs."
"I'm glad you enjoying this journey Hlehle, because I know first pregnancy can sometimes be overwhelming."
"How are you guys doing right now?"
I know she is referring to me and her son.
"We are fine, Bukhosi is so excited to become a dad."

"You made him happy even before you conceived, Sobahle my son is stubborn I know but onething I don't doubt is the love and respect he has for you."

I spent the whole afternoon with my mother-in-law we hada great time, she kept telling me funny stories about the Zulus, it's now late and we are driving back home.

"Sobahle where do you come from this late?"
Bukhosi asks the moment I get inside the house.
"I was just around, have you eaten?"
"You couldn't even respond to my texts and calls."
"I was at your parents house to visit your mom."
"Pho you failed to even let me know that you will be coming back late, Sobahle don't forget that you are pregnant."

"How can I forget when you keep reminding me at every given chance, being pregnant does not mean that I can't live my normal life." I snap
"Calm down MaZungu we are not fighting Sthandwa sam." He says calmly
"I'm sorry Mama."
I nod and he pulls me into his arms.

"Nami I'm sorry for snapping at you, and for not responding to your texts."
"It's ok Sthandwa sam, I just want you to be safe that's all."

"How is uMa?"
"She is fine, she is complaining that you guys have abandoned her."

"I thought you guys were her best friends, because whenever we check up on her all she cares about is you guys even Sbu and Nkosi were saying the same thing."
"We are her daughter-in-laws, it's normal for her to adore us."
