Sobahle

The divorce process should be proceeding next week, but my lawyer says Bukhosi's representative has not contacted him or confirmed anything yet. The agreement was drafted, and nothing has changed. Bukhosi still insists on us dividing his properties.

"Number 23, you have grown so much, mate."
I'm at the farm, I arrived this morning with bhuti'Ntsimbi. I spent most of the time with u bab'Mahlangu and his wife but they left a while ago and now it's just me and bhuti on the farm now it's starting to rain so I'm going to sleep here and I will leave tomorrow.

"Sobahle, what are you doing here?"
Bukhosi asks as he walks inside the house and finds me cooking in the kitchen.

"Hi, Bukhosibemvelo, I came here to check on Number 23, I'm sorry that I came to the farm without informing you."
"Oh no, it's fine, I'm just surprised to see you here."
He says, and I continue to prepare dinner while he goes upstairs.

"Dinner is rea.. oh, I'm sorry I knocked, but I didn't get any response, so I let myself in because I thought you were sleeping."
I rant, I walked in on half-naked Bukhosi.

"It's fine, I will join you right away."
He responds, and I walk out of the room fast, Bukhosi's body made me feel things, but I blame my pregnancy hormones. I took food to bhuti'Ntsimbi, and he is well settled in one of the cottages.

"You have already started eating without me. You must have been famished."
Bukhosi says, walking into the room dressed in comfortable clothes, I eat more now because of the little invader in my stomach.
"I thought maybe you weren't up for dinner."
"MaZungu, when have I ever rejected food from you ?"
He asks, sounding offended. Yeah, it serves him right because he rejected my love for him, nx bloody jerk.

When he is done eating, he asks for more, and I dish up for him again, and when we are done eating, he offered to do the dishes.

"Bukhosibomvelo, when will our divorce be finalized ?"
He stares at me for a while.
"I will talk to my legal team and ask them to finalize everything."
I want us to be done with everything so that I can enjoy my pregnancy in peace.

"Ok, I will inform my lawyer, and please ask them to speed up the process so that I can leave the province soon."
" You will be leaving KZN after the divorce is finalized ?"

"Yep, I will not be staying here."
"So what about our house, I intend to keep my promise and let you have it."
You mean your house bro that you are forcing down my throat.
"I will see everything when the time comes, I will surely come back for 23 when I'm well settled in the province that I'm relocating to."
He nods, understanding.

Bukhosi

Sobahle looks more beautiful and she seems to be in a good space than the last time I saw her and I don't want to lie and say I don't miss her or want her back because I definitely do but she looks like she has made up her mind about us and I don't blame her.

"Sobahle, are you okay in there ?"
She just stood up and ran to the toilet, and she is now throwing up.
"I'm fine, I ju..."
she doesn't even get to finish her sentence, she throws up again and I enter the bathroom and kneel besides her and pat her back, I help her stand up and and hand her a glass of water to rinse her mouth she looks so drained.

"Brush your teeth, and I will go and look for something you can wear from my closet, I'm taking you to the doctor."
I say, holding her face, but she moves away from me.

"Bukhosibomvelo, I'm fine, I just couldn't stomach the food."
She nolonger calls me Bukhosi like before, she really moved on.
"Ok, but let me prepare something different for you, so what would you like to have ?"
"I'll have salt and vinegar chips."

At least I can make those so I peel, cut, and fry the chips and serve them to her about 40 minutes later.

Sobahle

Bukhosi was so concerned about me last night, and that was very sweet of him. His presence and scent calms me down.

"You slept well ?"
He is standing behind the 5 potato chips again.
"Yes, and thank you for the clothes. How did you sleep ?" I slept in his t-shirt and robe.

"I slept well, I'm making potato chips for you because there is nothing to prepare for breakfast here, and Ntsimbi and I will be having last night's leftovers as breakfast."
Oh my baby, your dad is so sweet and thoughtful. Only if he knew the reason why I couldn't stomach food.
"Thank you, that's so sweet of you."
He gives me a full-blown smile, and I won't lie and say I'm not smitten.

"Yeah, at least I will have your share as my takeaway, so it's only fair that I return the favor."
He says, making me laugh, and he joins me.

"Kanti, you are buying my share with the chips ?"
"I'm not I'm just being fair and kind."
He says shrugging.
"Ok Mr fair Zulu." I say and he laughs shortly.
"Will you be attending the anniversary ?"
"Yes, I have to I mean it will be the last event I will be attending as a umakoti wakho and a member of the Zulu family."
He stares at me for a while.
"Are you ok with us attending as a couple ?"
"We won't really be attending as a couple because we are nolonger one, and we will have to tell the elders about the divorce."
"I see."
He hands me my bowel of chips and I thank him before digging in.

"I will be going to Kwanongoma on thursday so if you need a ride you will tell me."
"No I will be fine, but thank you for the offer, let me get going goodbye, Bukhosibomvelo."
"Bye MaZungu."

He stands outside the house and watches the car driving away. I want to go and buy a few things but, I don't want to be seen by those horrible human beings called journalists, they have made my life so hard I can't even go anywhere in public without them noticing.
