Bukhosi

I can not believe that Sobahle hid the fact that we are expecting a baby from me.

"Were you planning to run away with my child or keep it away from me ?"
She looks offended by my question.
"No, how can you assume that I would do that to you."
"Then why didn't you tell me that you are pregnant when after you found out ?"

"I was going to tell you, I swear."
She says with a shakey voice.
"Go and rest, we will talk tomorrow."
I say dismissing her.
"No, Bukhosi, we should talk now and resolve this issue now."

"I don't want to talk, I'm fucken pissed right now we will talk tomorrow morning."

"I'm really sorry Bukhosibomvelo."
She says crying and trying to touch me but, I walk out of the room leaving her sobbing, hearing her cry makes me want to hold her tight but I decided otherwise.

It breaks my heart knowing that, I left Sobahle crying but she kept my child's existence from. I can't believe that in a few months I Bukhosibomvelo Zulu will be someones father, this is the best gift my wife has given to me.

_________

"Good morning."
"Morning."
She says sipping a glass of apple juice.
"I was about to make breakfast, what would you like to have ?"
"Thanks for the offer, I will grab something along the way, can we talk ?" She nods.

"I'm really sorry, for not telling you about the pregnancy."
"How far are you?"
"I'm 10 weeks pregnant."
"Do you always throw up in the morning ?"
I think he is referring to the incident that took place, the day we spent the night at the farm house.
"Not only in the morning, but it's nothing you should be worried about it's just morning sickness majority of pregnant women experience it."

"Do you take any kind of medication for it ?"
"No but I drink ginger tea or sour lemon wayer to reduce the feeling of nauseous."

Sobahle

He is sitting here asking questions about my pregnancy and it's very sweet of him but, we need to address the big elephant in the room.

"Bukhosi why did you stop the divorce from proceeding ?"
"I did it for my child, we cannot have a baby while divorced."
"So we can go ahead with the divorce when the baby is born ?"
"Do you want a divorce ?"
He asks me and I shrug confused.
"We can't remain married because we want different things."
"Lalela ke Sobahle lana akna divorce that's gonna take place siyezwana? you knew what you were getting yourself into."
Haibo Bukhosi thinks, I'm his property.
"What do you mean..." he cuts me.

"You entered Kwazulu with a kist and you will leave by a coffin, akna divorce lana, it's me you and our child and her future siblings forever, what would you like to have for breakfast ?"
He says with a serious face and already, walking to the kitchen and I hurry after him shouting.

"Bukhosi I'm not your property, you can't force me to remain married to you even if I don't want to."
I raise my voice and he looks at me like I'm crazy.

"Firstly calm down you are stressing yourself and it will affect our baby."
"I'm not your property ok."
I say and he chuckles.

"What do you want to have for breakfast?"
He asks ignoring my rant.

_____________

It's been three weeks since Bukhosi returned home and I'm now in the second trimester of my pregnancy, my bump is now fairly visible.

Bukhosi and I only communicate regarding the baby and nothing else, he is always not around and when he is he spends most of the time in the gym and his home office.

"Gatsha will drive you to the doctor's practice today."
"Ok."
I say eating my porridge as always, and he walks out going to work. I wash my bowel and go upstairs to nap, Tirelo suggested that I should do yoga but I'm too lazy to do that.

I get ready for the doctor's appointment, Gatsha drives me there and surprisingly he is instructed to leave after dropping me off.

"Good afternoon Mrs Zulu, the Doctor will be with you in a few minutes you can wait for her in here."
"Thank you."
The nurse says walking me into the consultation room and she leaves. Just then Bukhosi enters the consultation room, I don't even need to turn my head back to know it's him his cologne sold him out.

"Sawubona MaZungu."
He takes a seat next to me.
"Hi."
It now feels so weird being in the same room as Bukhosi because we nolonger talk about anything else besides the baby.

The doctor comes and chats with me and we ask her a few questions before I lie on the bed for ultrasound.
"Hey baby."
I say the moment I see my baby on the screen, I have done a couple of ultrasounds but every time always feels like a first time I get really emotional but Tirelo and Busisiwe said it's quite normal.

"Yep there goes your super star."
Bukhosi is quite through out the whole process he is just looking at screen with so much joy visible in his eyes. I wipe my belly and he helps me up from the bed we conclude the consultation and leave the practice.

"Would you like to have something to eat before we go home ?"
"I would like to have lunch at the Beach front restaurant, you can just drop me off there and go back to work one of the drivers will fetch me."
"I'm not going back to the office so we can, have lunch and then go shopping if you are not tired."

We order our lunch and eat, when we are done I order a dessert and he watches me enjoy it while he drinks water as always. We drive to the nearest shopping complex and thank God that my baby bump is fairly visible so I won't be trolled for being pregnant so early into the mirrage or something worse.

"What are we doing here ?"
I ask Bukhosi as we enter a fancy boutique, we are still getting the stares and smiles from the people but luckily this shopping complex is not that busy.

"We are here to buy you maternity clothes."
I don't think I need those yet plus I have noticed that my bump is not tha big even my mother-in-law said that it might not get be bigger like most bellies.
"Thanks, that's so thoughtful of you."

He just nods we get an assistant and she takes me with her, all the clothes here are beautiful some are casual but classy their maternity collection is so beautiful but I won't be buying maternity clothes only.

"Thank you for visiting our store Her majesty." The store assistant says when we are done paying.
"It's a pleasure thank you for being so helpful."
I say smiling at her
"It's always a pleasure ma'am."

She says with a sweet smile we walk out of the store, I'm definitely coming back here their designs are so beautiful, I got about 8 linen dresses, it's my favorite fabric, I remember Ro used to say it is a  fabric of wealth and I now understand because those 8 dresses only excluding other items caused us a fortune but Bukhosi didn't mind paying.

"Can we please get inside this baby store and then we are done."
"I thought you were tired."

"I am but I just want to check their stuff out"

I say shrugging and he chuckles, serves him right angitshi he suggested that we come shopping.

"Ncoah Bukhosi look at this rompers."
I say showing him neutral colored rompers
"They are cute but I like this one."
He says showing me a pink baby grow.
"I think we should buy neutral things for now, because we don't know the gender yet."

We asked the doctor to tell us on our next appointment because I was too nervous.
"This is Nkosazana ka baba."

He says putting his hands on the bump while smirking but you can't miss the joy and excitement in his voice and eyes.
"Even if you say so we are still not taking any girly clothes, we are taking neutral colors only angithi Kababa."

I say talking to my baby and putting my hands on top of his and he smiles slightly and removes his.
