Part 3: Yuzuriha

Upon reaching the camp, taiju looked amazed at our little camp. I felt somewhat proud of myself and Senku as I saw his face

"Senku, your telling me... you did this all on your own?" Taiju said, his mouth practically hanging open

"Of course not you oaf." Senku gestured over to me "Y/N had a part in it." Senku slowly walked up "Until now, we've been lacking manpower. Coming up with the bare minimum for us both to survive takes up all our time." Senku took a step up the tree house "if I'm going to rebuild civilization. I'm going to need a muscle-y meathead to do all the grunt work." Senku had finally made his way up to the house completely, looking down at me and taiju "in other words, I've been waiting for you, taiju. I was ten billion percent sure you were alive."

I was honestly mesmerized, he looked amazing up there, like a leader. Someone I could follow. I held my hand to my chest instinctively, My eyes filled with admiration.

"You were so hell bent on confessing your love, and for a guy as stubborn as you. Even a few thousand years wouldn't stop you from making that happen." Senku paused for a split second before continuing "you aren't that weak."

I was completely and utterly mesmerized. How could someone have so much faith in another person. I finally snapped out of it whenever taiju spoke

"Yeah." Taiju loudly spoke up "of course I'm not!" He then turned slightly, so that he could see me as well "alright Senku, Y/N. If you guys can handle all the brainy stuff. You can leave the heavy work lifting to me. No problem!"

For the first time in a long time, I wanted to do something. I wanted to help them. But.. how..? I looked down slightly, I didn't want them to see the confusion on my face. Somehow someone took notice of it. I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Y/N! I'll count on you to watch him." I looked up to see taiju smiling at me "he gets in trouble a lot! And despite being the smartest person I know. He's super weak!" He said very sincerely

I started to laugh, what is this friend ship, I looked at senku and then at taiju once more "you can count on me! I'll protect him." I was still laughing, for the first time in years, I felt like I was someone needed.

I didn't see it but Taiju did, Senku had this look on his face. Taiju could've sworn it was the same look he'd image he was doing while he was looking at Yuzuriha from afar. Senku was smiling, completely immersed in Y/N's laugh

"It took humanity over 2 million years to crawl out of the Stone Age and into the modern one. We'll need to do that in a sprint." Senku spoke up, his face looking like himself again "I swear I'm going to take back the world. Through science I'll figure out what happened to us. And how we broke free." He finished

"I swear. I'm going to save Yuzuriha." Taiju spoke out, declaring it.

Senku and Taiju both looked at me, expecting an answer I didn't know what to say. I just blurted out the first thing that came to mind "I want.. to find my older brother." I simply nodded to myself, feeling determined

"We may be a couple of Highschool kids, but we're gonna rebuild civilization from the group up." Senku smiled, a genuine smile. "We'll be like Adam and Eve. Together we'll bring life back to this Stone world. This is exhilarating. Get excited.

The next few months were hard. With taiju trying to poison us and Senku's experiments coming in short. We were working hard on alcohol, just what Senku thought we needed. And me and Taiju wernt going to argue with him. Me and Senku spent a long time together. After Taiju trusted me in taking care of senku I found myself acting like his mom.. not like a cool badass protector..

"Senku! Rest! I'll watch in the snow. You've been up for so long already." I said scolding senku, all I saw was him ignoring me by picking his ear and then blowing it away, I wish I had some kind of strength in this moment. "Or should I got tell Taiju.?" If this was an Anime you would've seen those anger in the top right of my forehead.

Senku put his hands up in surrender "alright alright.. I'll get some rest. Wake me up in an hour or two." He said with a yawn as he headed to bed

Many more incidents happened like that. Until finally, It happened. The breakthrough.

Me and Taiju stood by as Senku poured the miracle water on a stone bird "listen up. Lesson one. It's not that there are things science can't explain." Senku was looking down at the stone bird "or at least-" you could audibly hear stone cracking, I was watching in awe "there are rules behind everything that happens. Science is just the name for the pain in the ass effort that goes into finding out what they are." A piece of the stone fell off, revealing the eye of the bird, I could hear Senku chuckle lowly as the bird was completely freed from the stone. It first circled around me and then flew up in the air, disappearing out of sight

And then, my ears hurt. I covered them to see Taiju screaming. Not anyone's name. Just screaming.

Senku sat down "I've been experimenting for a year now. It actually didn't take as long as I imagined." He said as I (Y/N) sat down beside him, Senku looked at me for a moment before looking up and smiling "heh. Slow and steady wins the race. I'm gonna beat fantasy with science as my only weapon." Senku smiled "oh yeah. Get excited."

"What do you think man? Who are we gonna bring back first?" Taiju was standing in front of me and senku

"Hmm.. we'll we're gonna revive everybody sooner or later, so it doesn't matter all that much who we start with." Senju said chuckling "though I suppose it would suck if we happened to wake up a murderer first."

Taiju looked down slightly "I get ya."

I coughed a bit, trying to get there attention. "Uhm.. I have someone I want to revive. could we possibly start with them?" I looked at senku "there very valuable! I'm sure they would be of so much help to us." I somewhat pleaded with the scientist

"Hmm.." he looked over at Taiju, who just nodded at Senku "sure. Who is it?"

I smiled a little "It's yuzuriha! She's great at arts and crafts and she's very sweet." I smiled "you guys know her right? She was the one you were going to confess to Taiju!"

Taiju looked surprised "you know Yuzuriha? Wait wait. Yes! I agree! We should revive her first." He said giddily

Senku sort of sighed "hes liked her for 5 years. He would've said he as his first pick. I don't particularly have anyone I want to revive. So I guess we're at a group agreement." He said smiling

"But let's pause!" Taiju turned to me and grabbed my shoulders "how do you know Yuzuriha? Is she special to you?" It almost felt like he was interrogating me

I just nodded slightly "She's the only one..." I paused and turned to Senku "outside the science club of course. That didn't judge or make fun of me." I didn't want to go further into detail "I wouldn't say we're.. friends.." I paused with the word friend do I even have any friends?? "But she's someone I really like."

Senku and Taiju were surprised, Y/N had never mentioned that she knew Yuzuriha before so how could they not be surprised? Before anyone could say another word Senku kicked Taiju, pushing him off me

"You'll hurt Y/N" he simply said before heading over to where Yuzuriha was. Stopping for a quick second to glance back at us. A smirk on his face "you guys coming?"
