Part 9: killed and captured part 2

The next few hours were not fun, we spent the night, making gunpowder was a lot easier than I thought we got up early and finished, with only some explosions.. wait explosions???

As the gunpowder exploded Senku pulled me back with him, I almost died today.. awesome..

"That's scary stuff.. we need to be careful." Yuzuriha said, I agreed immediately

"Yeah. It's been involved in a lot of experiments gone wrong." Senku said "not uncommon for some curious kid to lose a limb or worse." Senku looked back at us "don't forget this is a lethal substance we're dealing with."

"And we're planning to use it against Tsukasa?" Yuzuriha asked, knowing the answer anyways

"No. We'll make a deal." Senku said smiling

I sighed of relief.. I mean I hated Tsukasa. But I didn't want him dead, I didn't want anyone to die

"Huh?" Taiju questioned

"Tsukasa isn't some sort of mindless murderer, think back. When you two had your scuffle remember what he said?" Senku asked Taiju

He didn't even have to say anything, I couldn't forget any part of that conversation for a long time

"I'm other words." Senku continued "under the right circumstances, we can negotiate with him. And with a little gunpowder on our side, we'll have leverage." Senku started mumbling something, I couldn't hear it. But I could tell it wasn't good.

We were all trying to put the fire out, pulling water from the springs

"All right, just a little more and it'll be out." Taiju said

Senku chuckled "if Tsukasas after us, there's a ten billion percent chance he'll find us."

I looked up as collecting water and went wide eyed "guys. Look..."

Yuzuriha didn't have to say anything because she saw it as well, but Senku and Taiju looked around with a gasp.

"A smoke signal!" I said pointing out the obvious

"Is it Tsukasa?" Yuzuriha said looking back at Senku

"No, he's in the opposite direction." Senku said "and besides, he's got absolutely no reason to reveal his location like this."

"So what then? Forest fire?" Taiju was spitting out ideas

"I don't believe it's a mere coincidence." Senku said putting a hand up to his face "the timing suggests it's a response to the smoke we created."

"You mean..?" Yuzuriha looked at Senku

"Indeed I do. It's time to get excited you three. Because it looks like, we found someone else in this stone world." Senku said smiling

"Wow.. more people." I said staring at the smoke the person created "that's crazy." Truth be told I wanted to run and see who it was.. someone I knew..?

"We should finish putting out the fire." Yuzuriha said running back

"Yeah. Your right." Taiju agreed

"No, hang on." Senku suddenly said stopping all of us "as far as they know, our smoke could've been caused naturally by a small volcanic explosion. We need to send a signal back before they decide to give up and leave."

"You sure?" I asked "what about Tsukasa? He'll see it as well."

"We'll be broadcasting our location to everyone. Including him." Senku explained and chuckled

"What do we do Senku? Put it out? Or light it?" Taiju asked, in a hurry

"Let's light it up! Fire the smoke signal!" Senku finally said
