The two boys technically had to practice the same song, but there was only one laptop on which you could play music."I'll put on my earphones" Hanbin spoke, breaking the silence. Just when he was about to walk over to his backpack, Zhanghao stopped him.
"We have to dance to the same song anyways. Let's just practice together" Zhanghao stopped him, waiting for Hanbin to come stand in his position so that he could start the music.
After work hours, all the cameras in the practice rooms automatically turned off, so they didn't have to worry about pretending that everything was okay.
The only audible sound in the room besides the music were the deep breaths, and the squeaking of the shoes on the floor.
When the song was done, Zhanghao wordlessly played it again and again.
When both of them felt like they needed a break, Hanbin had quietly said that he would be going to the bathroom, reaching for the door handle and pushing it down.
It didn't open.
"It's locked" Hanbin frowned, knowing that it hadn't been him who locked the door.
"How?" Zhanghao asked, searching for the keys in his backpack but not finding them. "I think I left my keys at the dorm"
"Ah fuck, what are we going to do now? Isn't everyone home already?" Hanbin mumbled, dialing Jiwoong's number on his phone.
"Hyung?"
"H-Hanbin! It's really loud here I can't hear you!" Jiwoong shouted, hurting Hanbin's ears.
"Where are yo-" He hung up.
"I think the guys are out eating somewhere. They can't come"
Zhanghao inhaled deeply, sliding his back against the wall until he was sitting on the floor, mindlessly staring at his reflection in the mirror.
Hanbin realized that there was nothing he could do right now, so he did the same as Zhanghao, but further away.
Zhanghao noticed this. "You know, 'I don't bite'" He quoted Hanbin, shocking the younger boy.
"I thought you wouldn't want to talk to me" Hanbin whispered, moving to sit besides the Chinese boy.
"As if"
"Can we talk about it?" Hanbin finally said, opening the conversation which both of them were fearful of having.
"About what? The fact that we have been ignoring each other because our manager told us to distance? Because it was raising suspicions?"
Hanbin only nodded, realizing that it sounded so fucking dumb worded like that.
"Hanbin I need to know if you want this." Zhanghao looked at him in the eyes, "You pick. Friends, or lovers"
"I'm not supposed to decide this by myself-"
"If we stay as friends, we're not risking anyone's career. We can keep being idols and live our dreams. If we decide to become lovers, we can be happier. But our happiness could cost us our career's. Choose. Risk it, or not?" Zhanghao wasn't up for any games right now, he just wanted a straight up answer.
He needed it.
For himself, he had already decided which option he preferred. Now it was only up to Hanbin.
Hanbin let out a humorless chuckle, "you really think that if we stay as friends, I'll just stop loving you? I'll just love you from afar. But that would pain me. Wouldn't it pain you too, see me hurting?" Hanbin's tone switched. He moved closer to Zhanghao, trying to see if there was any movement of protest coming from the older boy.
There wasn't.
"Fuck you Hanbin. Do you want to call me a friend or do you want to call me your boyfriend?"
"I like husband better, but we'll get there" Hanbin was young. He was only 22. If he didn't take risks in his life now, when would he?
He kissed Zhanghao without any hesitation, finally having some sort of contact with him after so long.
"We'll have to do everything secretly" Zhanghao whispered, looking at Hanbin's pretty red lips.
"That makes it more exciting, doesn't it?" Hanbin chuckled, pushing Zhanghao on the floor, to hover over him and keep kissing him.
The floor wasn't exactly comfortable, but right now, both of them couldn't give two fucks.
They finally had each other again.
Officially this time.
