Zhanghao took a deep breath, placing his palm on his heart. He turned his head, his digital clock showing that it was 04:27am.It was the day of the final.
The main thing Zhanghao needed to do right now was sleep, but of course his body decided he didn't want to.
He huffed, sliding his covers off and standing up, grabbing his jacket.
Going to the rooftop had now become a habit for him when he was unable to sleep, and knowing that this was one of the last times he could do that made him sad.
The night air was cold, and the full moon shone high in the sky.
"We meet again up here" Hanbin mumbled, walking up to the older boy.
"The last time"
"I don't know how the others can be asleep right now" the two boys definitely couldn't, seeing that they decided to come out in the cold instead of sleeping warmly under the covers.
"Are you okay?" Hanbin questioned, stroking Zhanghao's cheek. The older bit his lip, grabbing Hanbins wrist and removing his hand.
Hanbin frowned, looking at Zhanghao confusedly.
"We should stop this" The older muttered, not daring to look at Hanbin.
"Stop what?"
"This" Zhanghao pointed at the two of them. "This isn't going to work"
Hanbin felt his heart shatter.
"Suddenly? Why now?" He wasn't going to give up without a fight, though.
"Because I decided so" Zhanghao didn't seem to have any intentions on telling the real reason, but right now, Hanbin didn't give two fucks.
"Did I do something wrong? Was it me?"
"You didn't do anything, my decision has nothing to do with something you did." Zhanghao shook his head, still not looking at the younger boy.
"Then tell me why!" Hanbin raised his voice, startling Zhanghao a bit, who had never experienced Hanbin mad.
"Because, Hanbin! There is a chance that one of us won't debut. Then what? How do you want to maintain our relationship?! If I don't debut, I'm definitely going back to china. It will be nearly impossible seeing each other. And if we do debut together, how are we supposed to keep this a secret?! We will have to hide every fucking time and I don't think I want to do that. I'm sorry Hanbin" Zhanghao shouted, managing to not spill his tears.
Hanbin scoffed, staring at Zhanghao.
"So you're just going to give up like this? We're over?"
"We, weren't anything to begin with" it hurt deeply saying those words, as he gave Hanbin one last look before going back inside the building, to cry under the covers.

The next morning was horror for all of the contestants, as no one felt like feeling cheery today.
The mood was down.
"Guys! It's the final! Be a bit happier!" Star Master Lip J tried to cheer them up, receiving only bland smiles as a response.
Ah, boys.
"Here I am stage starts in 5 minutes! Please start to go on stage" A staff spoke through the speakers, alarming the trainees who were waiting.
They all stood up, and made their way to the stage.
Since both of them were centers, they were always close to each other in the formations of the choreography. Zhanghao doesn't know how he will do the duo part of the bridge.
He could only hope to be a good actor, too.
The countdown started, followed by the all to familiar music, which was carved into their minds, making their bodies react unconsciously to the beats of the music.
The duo part came quicker than what Zhanghao expected, and Hanbin smiled at the older boy like nothing had happened.
As if last night had only been a corrupted fantasy of Zhanghao's worst nightmares.
Zhanghao was able to go through 'Here I am' pretty good, rushing to get changed for the jelly pop performance right after.
The stylist handed him his clothes, as he put them on. He admired himself in the mirror.
He had received a grey crop top, with a dark blue blazer. Rolling up the right sleeve like usual, Zhanghao felt ready.
After all, he had the killing part again.
He placed his palm on his belly, seeing it peek out from under the top.
Confidently, he walked over to his group members.
"Let's just have fun" he heard Matthew say, and he couldn't help but agree.
Jelly pop might've been Zhanghao's favorite stage of all he had done, as he panted slightly.
They were all sat in a room, watching the self-made introduction video of the hot summer team.
Hanbin really shined. Zhanghao gulped, trying not to think of him.
"Are you okay?" Gunwook asked him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Zhanghao nodded, giving him a tight lipped smile.
"I'm fine" He lied.
"I'm here for you if you need me, you know that hyung, right??" Gunwook had been kind of intimidating at the first episode, but ever since they did tomboy together, Zhanghao realized that he was only a big, caring baby.
He felt the sudden urge to protect him at all costs.
"Let's debut together, Gunwook-ah" Zhanghao side hugged him, watching as the taller boy agreed, full of confidence.
It was time.
