Day of disbandment

"I can't believe it's done. It feels like yesterday that we were performing 'in bloom'" Ricky mumbled, staring at his members, who had just sat there for a while without anyone muttering a word.

They just had their disbandment live, announcing that the contract was officially over and ZB1 wasn't a group anymore.

After rivers of tears, everyone just felt completely empty.

Matthew wasn't smiling happily anymore.

Gyuvin wasn't trying to lighten up the mood.

Gunwook wasn't cheering anyone up.

Jiwoong wasn't acting silly anymore.

Taerae wasn't singing to them.

Yujin wasn't being the cute maknae he always was.

Hanbin wasn't trying to fix everything.

Ricky wasn't teasing anyone.

And Zhanghao sure as hell wasn't feeling good anymore.

No matter if a stupid piece of paper said that they weren't a group anymore, ZB1 will forever be a family.

And they were going to stay united. Maybe not for now, but I'm the future, they'll be back.

Stronger than ever.

———

The official last goodbye came sooner than expected.

"Hao hyung, please take care of yourself! If you ever need help, feel free to call any of us!" Gunwook was the first to hug him goodbye, nearly squeezing him to death.

"We have to do a group call at least once a week!" Gyuvin stated, agreeing with Gunwook's words.

"Yes. Definitely" Zhanghao nodded, opening his arms to have a group hug.

"I'll miss you guys, I'll be back! I promise"

When everyone had said their goodbyes, only Yujin and Hanbin were left.

"Hyung..." Yujin whispered, leaning down to hug Zhanghao. His little Yujinnie was 18 now, and he grew to be taller than Zhanghao.

"I think you should listen to me. Why don't you apply to a college in the US?" Zhanghao suggested, shocking Yujin.

"What do you mean?"

"You said you wanted some time for yourself, abroad. You're good at English, why don't you apply for Harvard, Yale or something like that? You have the money and opportunity now,"

"Do you think I should?" Yujin bit his lip, unsure.

"I'm sure that you can also only attend a year there and then take classes here, online or something. You don't have to be there for more than a year if you don't like it"

"Maybe I will apply" Yujin agreed, unable to stop a single tear from slipping down.

Zhanghao wiped it off quickly, placing a kiss on Yujin's forehead.

"You'll always be my baby, Yujinnie. Follow your heart, okay? I'm just one call away if you need me"

They hugged one last time, and then Yujin called Hanbin over to join the hug.

"You guys were kind of like my own little parents. I'm thankful to have met both of you" Yujin mumbled, making both of the other boys tear up.

"I love you" Yujin said one last time, before detaching himself and wave at them goodbye, meeting Gyuvin outside of the airport, who had been waiting for him.
