I couldn't believe that Kit was awake, it was a literal miracle. She was in a coma, for a day, which sounds crazy. Maybe it wasn't a coma after all? I honestly didn't care what it is, as long as she was awake, and alive. Susan explained what happened to the doctors, as they looked shocked by her awakening. I couldn't have been happier that morning.

Kit looked up at me, "how long was I asleep?"

"About a day." I said, taking out her braid which was a mess.

The doctors walked over to me, "m'am? We're going to need to take some tests on Kit, so if you could please left the hospital for the day and take her home tonight around 7pm."

"Yeah, sure, I'll be back at 7pm." I said to Kit and the doctors. Kit's eyes were droopy and her under-eyes were red and purple. She resembled a zombie in a way, I guess that's what happens when you awake from a coma early.

Susan walked out of the hospital with me.

"Y/n, did you clean out your mother's house yet?"

"Oh, no, I sent a letter to my aunt, she's going to move in and watch over Kit, since I moved in with Robert."

"Yeah, again, I'm really sorry, none of this would've happened to Kit if I never had pushed myself on Robert and his mother so much. I don't know why I did any of this in such an awful way."

"No, no, Susan, I told you already, I forgive you."

I walked into town with Susan, we went into the bookstore at the corner of the street.

"Have you been here before?" Susan asked.

"Umm, no, I don't believe so."

"You don't read?" Susan asked.

I shook my head, "no, not much, I used to borrow some of Kit's books but after awhile my mothers addictions got too strong and I had to take care of both of them. So there wasn't much time for me to do anything that I really wanted to. That's when I started sneaking out to go to the dinner parties, hence, how I met Robert."

"Everything seemed to work out so perfectly for you." Susan said, taking a book off the shelf and holding it close to her chest.

"I guess in the end everything worked out the right way."

Susan had tears in her eyes, "I don't think my life will ever not feel forced. Anything I want I have to force, and that's why I do things I know I'll regret. Part of me thinks doing the wrong thing is going to make the right thing  happen quicker."

"That's not really how life works."

A tear ran down Susans cheek, "I don't think my life is supposed to work."  Susan said.

"Sure It is Susan, everyone has rough patches in their life."

Susan looked shocked for a second, looking out the window.

"Y/n...does Robert have a sister?"

"What?" I asked.

Susan stared out the bookstore window behind me.
