Time: around a month after 'girlfriend'

Sweet sixteen.

Sixteen is an important age for people.

I'm now sixteen too.

Then why wasn't I happy?

I questioned everything about my life, while staring at the horizon from the cliff.

As I looked down, I measure if a fall from this height would kill someone.

Maybe you'll black out while falling, and won't feel anything, a small voice said at the back of my head.

I toke a small step to the edge.

I mean, it's not like anyone will miss you

I wanted to take another step, but was stopped by something pulling on the leg of my pants.

Looking down, I say Fidough holding onto my pants, trying it's best to pull me away from the cliff, knowing I was wanting to jump.

'Go away Fidough', I said coldly.

Fidough growled at me trough the pants, denying my command.

Fidough won't miss you. She'll find a new trainer

I pushed Fidough off of my pants, only for her to run back and hold onto it again.

'Fidough', I said, warning her.

Again, fidough growled at me.

I gently picked her up, and placed her against a tree, which was where she stayed.

I went back to the edge, closed my eyes and went to take a step into a not existing bridge, as..

'Ping', my phone said, as it flew in front of my face.

"Text from 'Reshes ❤️'" appeared on my screen.

My eyes widened, as if I just woke up from a massive nightmare.

I stumbled back and crawled against a tree, realising I nearly ended my life.

My heart rate went up, as I started gasping for air in a panic attack.

I wasn't sure what was going on in my head.

'Why did I-', I said with a trembling voice.

Fidough gently put her head on my lap, trying to calm me down.

Quickly I grabbed the phone.

Reshes ❤️: "hiiii!"

U: "hey"

Reshes ❤️: "I was wondering something"

'Hmm'

U: "that is?"

Reshes ❤️: "do you have a date to the school prom?"

U: "nah, no girl is crazy enough to go with me"

Reshes ❤️: "same here 🥲"

I chuckled a bit, trying to forget what just happened with the cliff.

U: "I assume you got no date either"

Reshes ❤️: "you would be correct"

U: "maybe you would like to go with me?"

Reshes ❤️: "maybe you would like to go with me?"

I stared at the text, feeling my cheeks fill with warmth.

We asked each other out, at the exact same moment.

Neither of us said anything in the chat anymore for a few minutes.

Reshes ❤️: "I guess we are going together?"

U: "yeah"

I was so happy that chat can't show my tamato berry coloured face.

Reshes ❤️: "also, what are you going to do during the treasure hunt?"

U: "just enjoy some time outside"

We chatted the whole day, all the way to sunset.
