"No thank you," I said and smiled.

"What?" he asked with a confused expression.

"Listen, it's cute that you finally want to step up but I think I already have enough dysfunctional family members and I don't think my sanity can handle one more," I clarified.

"Well I don't really care f-," he started but I interrupted him.

"And I don't really care what your reason for kidnapping me is, this runs in the family I guess. But my mother is waiting for me back home and if you know my family, you know how my mom is," I told him.

"Quite the salamander, aren't you?" he asked.

"Sorry Mr... I don't even know what your name is and I don't even consider a relationship until the third date," I explained. I didn't know why I just couldn't stop yapping and let the man speak.

"Mauricio," he stated.

"Thank you. As I was saying, I'm really going through a lot right now and I seriously need my mother so if you send me back to her then you'd really be saving a life," I pleaded.

"Is this what having daughters is like? I can't believe Marco has two of you. How does he handle you?" he asked.

"Easy, he doesn't handle us. But you wouldn't know that because seeing as we had never heard even a whisper about you, it looks like 'unavailable dad' runs in the family. Remind me to see a priest for that. Oh it's three daughters," I told him.

"I'm quite certain it's two. But we'll save that for later. Would you like a drink Marcella?" he asked while pouring two cups of fruit juice.

"It's Quinn. I don't know what you know about your son, neither do I care, I'm a Montanari so anything to do with the last name De Los Rios, count me out," I finalized.

"I'm pretty sure your birth certificate when you were born read Marcella Diamanté De Los Rios," he said 'as a matter of factly'.
"But your stubbornness won't take you anywhere. I'll let you eat up and maybe when you calm down and are fed, we can get down to business."

"I have no business with you," I told him.

"You do. You can't fault me for wanting to be a regular grandpa and telling my grandkids about stories from the past," he said sarcastically.

"Regular grandpas don't kidnap their grandkids," I pointed out.

He chuckled then said, "eat up. I'll see you in an hour."

He didn't give me time to say anything as he turned and left. Later a lady came in set down a tray of food on the coffee table. She barely spoke a word and left.
I knew there was no use arguing cause I couldn't get without of here without being caught. My stomach rumbled in agreement. I ate the food and prepared for whatever story time Mauricio had for me.

A man led me to the living room to wait for Mauricio, and I couldn't help but admire the beauty of the house. It wasn't a large mansion or town house instead it a was modern, clean cottege that had a luxurious simplicity to it.

"Sorry I was held up," Mauricio walked in and took a seat across from mine.

"Had a body to take care of?" I asked sarcastically.

"Two actually, I really hate people who can't keep their word," he said then drank a cup of water.
"Anyway never mind that, how was your meal?"

"Let's skip the chitchat. Say what you have to say," I cut him off.

"Don't treat me like a business partner. We are bonding," he said with a smile.
