QUINN
I was only half kidding when I told my mom that the bullet was still in my arm. It had grazed my arm because of my frantic movements but it still tore through the flesh.
I don't know why that guy thought I could fight. I couldn't, I was working on adrenaline and the need to stay alive. Still didn't stop him from empaling my arm with a bullet then throwing me to the wall."How's your arm mija?" Mamma asked when I walked into the living room.
"It hurts less, did the men manage to retrieve my bag?" I asked. I had been cut off from the outside world and God knows what had been happening without me knowing.
My thoughts went to Demetri. You have no right."Yes they did," she said while pulling out my bag from a box. I took it from her and searched for my phone.
"Don't worry, Tamara went back to Italy and has been helping take care of Montanari while you were away," mamma explained.
"We thought it would be better if we told people you were terribly sick and I was nursing you.""Thank you mamma," I said. My phone was nowhere to be found.
"Mamma can I used your laptop?""Sure, in the coffee table," she said while walking to the kitchen.
I opened the drawer, took out the laptop and turned it on. Once it booted, I tried to located my phone but it wasn't traceable. I quickly logged into my account and removed the account from the phone. I had to protect my information.
I started restoring things from the cloud onto the laptop. It would have to do for now. I was shocked to find messages sent to people from the time I went missing. They wanted to make it look like I wasn't missing.I started responding to everyone and making sure they knew that I wasn't okay and not to worry. Making sure it sounded like me this time.
"Hola Marco, Lupita está en la cocina. Diamanté está en la sala de estar," I heard Nina say to Marco from the entrance.
"Aren't you supposed to be resting?" I heard mom say as she walked to him.
"I came to check on you," I heard him reply followed by what sounded like kissing."Marcella," Marco said while walking into the living room.
"Marco," I replied.
"What is wrong with you?" Mom whispered from behind him.
"It's okay Lupita. I don't blame her. But at least Rosa isn't as hostile,"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I'm going to tell you this so that you don't get angry at your sister. She reached out to me a few years ago through your mom. We've been talking since.
I never used to keep tabs on her, well I did, but most of the information I knew about her, she would tell me herself."I can't believe Rosa never told me about this. But how could I blame her. She was so little when our father left. Almost every girl wanted fatherly love.
"It's okay. I don't blame her. You're okay when you're not being Marco De Los Rios," I told him.
"I'm sorry for also not telling you about Lorayne, caro," mamma added.
