I sat at the lunch table with my friends, and we were all discussing about the upcoming party at our good guy friend, Jamie's house. It had been two days officially since I saw Luke. On Tuesday, we kind of dissed each other at the library, but I only did it because he was being rude to me back, and now here I am...at the cafeteria on a Thursday.

While we were talking, I couldn't help but to turn my head at the sudden entrance in the cafeteria. Luke. For some reason, mostly everyone laid their eyes on him, and I couldn't help but to stare either.

"Oh my god, I would do anything just to even say one word to the guy!" Jenna gushed, fanning herself with a magazine she was reading.

I rolled my eyes simply, staring down at my food. "Hey Cecilia, you work today, right?" Megan suddenly asked, turning towards me. I looked up at her and nodded.

"Bummer. Do you have to watch that dem-" Her voice came to a halt as soon as I gave her a 'don't you dare' look. "Joey?" She finished, clearing her throat awkwardly. I shook my head no, Claire's parents wanted to watch him, and I actually think it's fair that I'm finally getting a break from watching him, you know?

As soon as everyone picked back up on talking, I tuned out from them, roaming my eyes around the lunchroom to see if Luke was still there, and he was. He sat in front of the beautiful brunette girl, and they both looked pretty serious. Lindsey spotted me looking off into another direction, and she turned her head so she could see who I was looking at for herself.

"Who is that girl?" She questioned, as if she could read my thoughts, because I was wondering the same thing, too.

"What? Who?" Sarah turned around and turned back to us, breathing out a sigh. "You guys are scoping out on the Luke kid?"

"I wasn't." I spat out harshly, still angry about that other day, when he was rude to me.

"Hmm...I think that's his girlfriend. I mean, think about it. All he ever does is talk with her, in fact, that's the only person he talks to at this school." Jenna stated, butting into the conversation.

"Luke's hot," Megan chipped in with her arms cross, "It's a shame he like, resents and rejects every girl that does even the most simple thing to him, like, look at him and just admire his body."

"I think he's very...annoying." I said out, sounding more like a question than an opinion.

The four of them raised their eyebrows at me. "Luke? Annoying? He barely says a word to anybody. In fact, I don't think he's ever talked to anybody at this school but Meredith." Sarah stated.

"Meredith?" I repeated.

Lindsey nodded, "Yeah. She's the beautiful brunette girl that he's talking to right now."

My eyes trailed at their table again, and I breathed out a sigh. "Why of all people, her?" I finally asked, slumping into my chair.

"I think they've known each other for quite some time. It's actually pretty weird, though. On the same day he enrolled at this school, she enrolled, too." Megan gossiped. I cocked an eyebrow at her; she seems to always be the one to know about people these days. What a gossip queen.

"Yeah, and everyone didn't notice her being a new student as well because all people were ever talking about was Luke. It was either Luke this, or, Luke that. I tell you...he's going to be the leader of the stuck up populars one day." Jenna confirmed.

"I doubt Luke even cares about popularity," Sarah protested, "I think he's one of those guys who likes to keep quiet and keep themselves hidden. You know? People who talk more in their thoughts than with their mouths."
