"You do have your car, right? I mean, I know I dropped it back off at your place. But I just want to be sure." Lindsey said openly, glancing around the hallways as if she were looking for somebody. I nodded at her.

It was a boring and bleak old Monday; got to love them! I also should be going back to work today at the library, but Luke demanded for me not to. I was completely devastated that I pissed off him ever more; it's not like he already doesn't like me to begin with. The three of them refused to come to school again, they said they had 'business' to take care of. I sighed mentally at this, my thoughts of it being broken yet again by Lindsey.

Wait, it wasn't Lindsey. It was the sound of the bell going off, signaling that first period was about to begin. I widened my eyes for a quick second and Lindsey blew me a kiss, taking off afterwards; her long dark hair dancing behind her due to the breeze that she caused by her speed.

I sighed once more and closed my locker shut. You know what else has kept me up at night, tossing and turning? The fact that Meredith was unable to read what the dark angels were doing to my parents. Or were they doing anything to them? Were they maybe just stalking them? They can't hurt my parents, they just can't.

The thought of them even laying a finger on them had worked my body up messily, and it disgusted me how Luke nor Cam nor Meredith wanted to do anything about it.

As I stared down at the now abandoned hallway floors, trudging to my math class, I felt someone bump against me, and books went tumbling down onto the ground, papers scattering everywhere. I groaned and looked up to see that it was Matt. Matt.

I stared at him and blinked my eyes repeatedly as if I were astounded, and all he did was just smile at me. But it wasn't your average 'happy and outgoing' form of smile, it was more of an apologetic smile. Just as it was getting extremely awkward, he squatted down to pick up my things and after that, he handed me a note and walked away. I gazed at him as he walked out of the hallway, curious. Well, this was...weird.

I stuffed the note in my pockets, clutching onto my things shortly after and getting to math class.

Math class was boring, which wasn't a surprise. Just a bunch of calculus crap, and yada yada yada. Whatever.

As soon as that class had ended, I went to science, which was very...tragic. Luke wasn't there, but Claire kept complaining to everyone about the hang over she had over the weekend, as if she was suddenly a bad ass for getting one. It actually makes her look stupid; especially since she has a son now. When will she grow up?

I shook my head disapprovingly, the bell finally ringing for history. I got off the stool to gather my lab papers, and then escorted myself out shortly after.

As soon as boring old history class ended, I walked to lunch with Jenna at my side, talking about the color orange. Jenna was so random but very weird, and I adored that about her.

"I mean, I think it's stupid to ask but, which was named first? The fruit orange or the color orange? And I also don't get why..." She continued talking and talking and talking until I finally tuned her out, glancing around the cafeteria as soon as we got in there.

We sat at our original table: with Sarah, Lindsey, and Megan. I wasn't hungry at all, the thought of my parents being at risk and the fact that Luke was angry with me was enough for me not to crave anything. I sat across Megan but beside Lindsey, staring at my fingernails at first.

"Is Cam sitting here?" Sarah quickly asked, taking out her items from her bagged lunch.

I jumped at her sudden question, and then I chuckled. "No, he's not here today."
