I woke up to bright sunshine spilling everywhere in my room, including my eyes. I threw my hands in my face, hissing with pain. Once I had the strength to open them slightly, I swung my legs out of my bed and approached my windows, to place the curtains in front of them. Once I did that, I sighed with relief, my eyes open normally. I don't have school for two days, just great. What will I do during the whole time?
As I darted my eyes around my room, I noticed a pink note that stood out on my nightstand, my first assumption was that it was by my parents. And it was.
Written in sloppy cursive writing, read: 'Good morning sweetie! If you are getting this note, then that means you are awake!'
I rolled my eyes at their obvious statement, and continued reading:
'We are well aware of you being suspended. Did you think that the school wouldn't call us? Nice try. We won't have you slumbering all day, thinking that your little suspension sentence is a free ticket from doing anything at all, when that's not the case! And although the city library is closed this week, luckily, your father and I are at work, and we have errands that need to be completed. But obviously, we're not in town to do them! Downstairs in the den on the coffee table, there are a list of places you need to stop by, and we left you the money to purchase the items! The errands had better be completed by Friday, since we come back that day! We love you! Love, Mom & Dad (:'
I groaned about the results of my suspension, having to run errands all day today and tomorrow for my parents. Can you believe it? Just as I was about to ball up the note and throw it into my trash ban by my closet door, I noticed a P.S message.
'P.S: ONLY use the money for the items we need! DO NOT spend it on things you need! Use your own money!'
I threw it away within that, going into my bathroom to wash up and comb my hair. After all of that, I slipped into my purple robe and house slippers, trudging downstairs shortly after to get some French toast and just watch TV. Of course I'm not supposed to be lounging around like my mom had said in that stupid note, but she never said I couldn't do it in the morning!'
I smirked deviously as I opened the freezer part of my refrigerator, taking out a box of French toast and popping two into the toaster shortly after. As I waited, I sat at my kitchen table and grabbed a nearby newspaper that my dad usually reads on the weekends when he's not out of town with mom.
After only a few seconds, the news was boring and uninteresting to me, so I tossed it aside, darting my eyes around the kitchen and just glancing at everything. It's so quiet and awkward...knowing that I'm missing school, it sucks. When I finished eating my quick fix breakfast, I went upstairs to watch TV.
I sighed as I finished answering the surprising text from Megan, who was very shocked from the fight I got into, and she also informed me that she and the rest of the girls will come by my house so we can all talk about it. After that, I plummeted down onto my bed, staring at the ceiling ahead. As I glanced at the dried paint dripping on it, I winced to myself, knowing that I had something else to do.
And that 'something else' was to run those errands that my parents had left me. I breathed out an exasperated sigh at this, knowing that I was sort of procrastinating with it. But I can't help it. I don't really feel like going anywhere and running everywhere, seeing people and losing my patience. I really hate public areas.
But I knew I needed to get it done. As soon as I lifted myself up from my bed, I went over to my closet to find an outfit. I threw on a black shirt and denim skinny jeans and a pair of silver sandals, wearing my hair down and applying makeup. Got to at least look decent when I'm going out, even if it's to do something I could care less about, right? Right. I grabbed my car keys and my wallet, followed by my cell phone, going downstairs and out the door shortly after.
