Grief

Sally woke up with a throbbing headache. She sat up and saw she was in her bedroom at her's, Paul's and Percy's apartment. Sally got out of bed, thinking about the horrible dream she just had. Percy was killed by Zeus and she had screamed when she saw him lying still on the ground.

Sally walked out into the living room and saw Paul watching T.V. He was watching him and Percy's favorite show, with a bowl of microwave popcorn in his lap. The scene was very normal yet weird. Paul never watched his and Percy's show by himself, he always had her son there too.

"Morning honey, is Percy still in bed?" Said Sally.

Paul stood up and looked at Sally with tears in his eyes.

"You don't remember?" He asked with uncertainty.

"Well I did have a really strange dream last night. I don't know why, but in the dream Percy was killed by Zeus. It felt very real" she said, silently asking a question on what he was talking about.

Paul walked up to her and grabbed both of her hands. "Sally, I need to tell you something, sit down."

Sally looked at him with a confused expression but sat down. Paul still holding her hands, started telling her what happened.

"Sally, yesterday after the funeral, Percy left to go talk to Chiron while we were packing. He didn't come back, so we went to look for him"

"That's weird" Sally said, "That's what happened in my dream too".

"We found him talking to Zeus, and— Sally you need to stay sat down for this"

The last part was because she had stood up to go get some food. She turned back around to face him.

"Paul, I just want to get my breakfast. Make this fast."

"Okay" he said, taking a deep breath. "Sally, it wasn't a dream. You are just so shocked by what happened that you don't remember it as reality. Yesterday, when Percy was talking to Zeus, he was killed. I'm guessing that Zeus hit him with a lightening bolt, and Percy was dead the moment it touched him". He took a long look at her face.

It was frozen with shock and grief.

"No, Paul, you're lying to me. It was just a dream. It never happened. You're just making fun of me. It was just a dream".

By now Sally was starting to ramble that it was just a dream and he was lying. Paul pinched her arm to get her attention and looked her dead in the eye.

"Sally, trust me I don't want it to be real either". Paul said this with more intensity then she had ever heard. "It wasn't a dream, and I'm not lying to you. Percy is dead. It will be okay though, at least he is with his friends in Elysium".

Sally started to sob hard and Paul pulled her into a hug. He rubbed his hand in circles on her back and spoke soothing words. After a few minutes, she calmed down enough to talk.
A/N~Until you see this •, this - is a sniffle

"So, what you're saying is - that Percy is - dead?"

By the end of the sentence she had burst into heavy sobs again.

"But" she said after she calmed down again, "he, he can't be dead. He's - Percy. Percy - can survive - anything".

This cycle went on for another hour, Sally saying he can't be dead, breaking into heavy sobs, and repeat. Finally, she fully collected herself and stood up.

"The only reason his friends died, was because the gods couldn't let them live happy lives." She said this with determination. " They never got to have their childhood. They never got to enjoy themselves for long. The only reason Percy is dead is because Zeus decided to kill him. I will not let this stand. The gods will pay for what they have done to those children and my son".

A/N ~ Hi! I think I did very good on this chapter. I didn't want Sally to just immediately accept Percy's death and decide to get revenge so I had her be in denial. I feel SOOO bad for what I'm doing to her, but it's worth it for a good book. At least I hope it's good. I think I'm going to do a chapter from Percy's point of view, but I'm not sure yet. Comment what you think, vote if you like this chapter. Thanks!
