Let's Get Revenge

Nightmares

After lunch passed, Sally, Fred and Joyce got together around the dining room table. Blue cookies were sitting in the center, surrounded by papers. Once Sally set up her papers, she started the meeting.

"Thank you, for joining my cause in getting revenge. When I first started plotting, I wanted to destroy the gods for what they have done. I already had half of my plans and only needed to get recruits. But Paul made me see sense, that destroying them would only do evil. I had to go back to square one, but now I have the beginnings of a terrific plan to get revenge against the gods. We are going to finish that plan, recruit more people for this cause, and finally put the plan into motion."

Fred and Joyce sat quietly during Sally's rant, listening to her. They did not know that she had wanted to destroy the gods, and realized how serious this was. But they stayed quiet, only sharing slight surprised expressions across the table. When Sally finished, she grabbed a cookie and took a bite. After sitting in silence, Fred finally said something.

"We didn't know that you, um, wanted to destroy the gods at first. But" Fred added when he saw Sally was about to protest, "we will still help you on this mission. As long as you never try and do anything too horrible."

Sally smiled in thanks, then got serious. "Okay, now that we have talked, it's time to tell you guys what I have so far."

Both Fred and Joyce leaned in to hear her plans, and Sally started explaining.

"We all know that the gods aren't going to be easy targets. One wrong move and they will know all about what I'm planning, and take us down. Names have power, so we will use code names for the gods. We need something that will be impossible to crack, but simple enough that it won't sound suspicious. I was thinking for Zeus, we could say PL for Purple Lightening, since that's the color of Camp Jupiter."

"I like it" said Joyce. "We could say it's someone's initials. What about the other gods?"

The next ten minutes were spent thinking of the different code names. At the end, they had twelve different names:

Zeus - Purple Lightening/PZ

Poseidon - Drowning Sea/DS

Hades - Death Holder/DH

Apollo - Golden Chariot/GC

Artemis - Hunting Twin/HT

Aphrodite - Beauty Girl/BG

Demeter - Farming Queen/FQ

Persephone - Spring Flowers/SF

Athena - Smart Warrior/SW

Ares - Bleeding War/BW

Hephaestus - Deformed Builder/DB

Hera - Queen Peacock/QP

After thinking up all the code names, they all decided to go to bed. Sally put all her things away and Fred and Joyce went to bed. They stayed up for an hour to help each other memorize the names, before finally going to sleep. In the guest room, Sally was dreaming.

She woke up in a dark cavern with huge stalactites. Sally stood up and started to walk around, when she heard voices. She slowly crept toward them, when finally she came to a gaping hole. The voices were coming from the pit, and it sounded like they were arguing.

 Sally couldn't hear anything, and she started to walk away, when she heard something come from behind her. She turned around and saw a girl with a cheerleader outfit on. She had sharp teeth, and her talons looked like they could rip you to shreds. She had this deadly look in her eye, and when Sally looked down, she saw the strangest thing. This girl had a donkey leg.

The girl walked straight through Sally, away from the giant pit. She followed the strange looking girl, but after a few minutes, the girl stopped. She looked straight at Sally and smiled.

"How nice, a visitor! Let's see who we have today." All of a sudden, Sally's drivers license was in the girls taloned hand, taken right out of her back pocket. The girl read the name and started laughing. "Isn't this a treat? Sally Jackson, well I know someone who has the same surname as you. Do you know him? His name is Percy Jackson."

The girl saw Sally's eyes widen and laughed. "Is he your son? I must give you a special welcome then. Then you can tell him all about how you met me."

"He's - dead" Sally managed to say.

"I didn't get to kill him? What a shame... don't worry though, you will still be getting a very special gift from me."

Suddenly, the girl lunged at Sally, and the dream ended.

Sally woke up, shaking. Is this what it felt like to have demigod nightmares? She decided she was going to add it to the list of things to scream at the gods about. After sitting in thought for a few minutes, Fred came into the room, looking worried.

"Um Sally? We have a problem. A few teenage girls are standing at the door, saying they will kill us."

Sally threw herself out of bed and down the stairs. She looked through the peephole to see the stranger girl from her nightmare with two other weird looking girls. Fred couldn't see through the Mist, so he couldn't see the girls were monsters.

" Come on out Sally, let us kill you. I promise it will be slow and painful" said the strange looking girl from her dream.

"Fred, do you have any celestial bronze weapons? These girls are empousai." said Sally frantically.

His eyes widened and he nodded. "In the attic, I have some swords and guns with celestial bronze bullets."

"Okay, we need to get everyone to the attic and arm them. Come on"

Sally woke up Bobby and Mathew and got them to the attic, Fred and Joyce coming in right after them. They all armed themselves and waited. After a few minutes, they heard the front door bang open and the girls running through the house. They all braced themselves for the sound of someone climbing up the ladder to the attic, but it never came. After sitting for a few minutes, they all started to think that the girls left. They relaxed, and Fred breathed a sigh of relief.

All of a sudden, the attic door banged open, and the empousai came running in.
