A week later-

Avika was on her way to 'Insight Raghuvanshi Publications' and her phone rang. Parking the car she looked at the screen, the username flashed her dad's name. Shoving the phone inside her pocket and shutting the car door she stepped out.

"Good morning Ma'am" Inaya greeted her on the way. Nodding in response she took the elevator towards her chamber.
'I have found the potential groom for you and the engagement is next week'
Her dad's voice echoed in her head and she remembered the time given to her was over.

Her grip on the phone tightened and she entered inside her chamber.
Keeping the bag and keys aside she sat on the chair opening the monitor's screen in front of her.

Her focus was long gone and she was not able to concentrate because of the voice echoing in her head.

Sighing she took her phone and dialed her dad's number which he answered in a second.

"So you remember? Kindly grace us with your presence Avika" Abhimaan said from the other side in a mocking way.

"Dad i-

"Please don't disappoint me Avika" he said cutting her off and ending the call.

'I can't do this anymore" her breaths became heavier each passing second and she didn't know what she could do to stop this marriage.

She didn't know about the groom but what she knew was the marriage arranged by her dad was not in her favor. He never did anything in her favor.

"In some corner of my heart I still wish you were here Mom" tears filled her eyes but she wiped them before it could escape.

Gulping the lump down from her throat she called Vihaan and asked him to cancel her schedule.
Standing up she pulled her hair in a bun and rushed outside the building. Employees were looking at her while she was walking or more like running and they never saw her this frustrated because she never let her emotions overpower her actions.

She reached there within 45 minutes and parked her car. The Buttler came to open the door hearing the car honks.
Although she rarely came here, she could easily recognise a few of them.
Many knew her since childhood and few were newly hired.

The door opened, giving her the view of wooden furniture and white, golden vintage architecture in the building.

Flashbacks of her childhood played in front of her eyes.
The memory of her living in this building was still fresh in her mind because she was just 15 years old then and moved into Roohi's parents house.

She didn't feel at home but felt the warmth of the family at some point.
Plastering a fake smile on her face she entered inside which soon faded after seeing the person present here.

Raghav Roy

Her father's old friend.

His presence made her skin crawl and the look in his eyes made her feel disgusting in her own skin.

Abhimaan came out from his room and his eyes glanced towards Avika who was frozen in her place.

"At least greet your soon to be husband" he said and laughed as if he cracked a funniest joke.

Her eyes went wide hearing him and palms became sweaty. She started shaking her head in rejection and took steps back until it collided with the pillar.

'no no no no. I need to run. Run Avika Run' her inner self screamed.

She wanted to run but her feet were glued and she wasn't able to move. The air in her lungs felt trapped and she was not able to breathe.
Gathering the courage she turned towards the door and started running but her steps were halted when a strong hand gripped her arm.
