"So you just left?" Mia asks once I finish filling her in on all the events of last night. "Well, yeah." I nod, looking down at the breakfast menu in front of me. "Why?" She asks skeptically. "Why what?" I reply, eyes still set on the menu.

"Why did you leave?" She clarifies. "Oh, I don't know. It was late." I shrug easily. "Late? You're usually there until at least 10." Her eyebrows drawing together in confusion. "Yeah but I don't know, I was tired. Plus his parents were there." I wave her off.

"So what do you think?" I glance up from the menu to look at her. "I think you're not telling me something." She hums matter-of-fact and looks down at her own menu with a knowing grin.

"What?" I frown. "You tell me." She chuckles. "I don't know what you're talking about. That's it. That's the whole story."

"Okay...if that's the story you're sticking to.." She shakes her head amusingly. "That is the story I'm sticking to because it's the whole story." I huff. "Alright, no need to get defensive." Mia raises her hands in surrender.

"Mia." I sigh. "Charlie." She mimics with a giggle. "What do you think, honestly?" "Honestly? I think you're both being weird and I'm positive you're keeping something from me." She looks up from her menu with her fingers interlocked.

I ignore her. Figures this conversation would go nowhere.

Mia on the other hand, is far from dropping it. I don't have to look up to know she's staring right at me, waiting for me to cave and give her something.

Her fingers are tapping anxiously against the wooden table as she hums to herself. I try my hardest to ignore it. To not give in. But of course I'm going to take the bait and bite.

"Stop it." I groan. "Stop what?" She replies innocently. "Stop staring at me. I already told you everything." "Who says I'm staring at you?" She counters. "Mia, you're sitting literally inches across from me, I know you are staring."

"Did you kiss?" She asks instead, like an excited 5 year old. "What? No!" My cheeks warm with a blush. "Did he tell you he wants to make sweet love to you?" She goes on teasingly.

"Mia shut up!" I look around the small little café to make sure no ones listening.

"Oh my god he did! Did you take him up on the offer? How did you guys do it with the baby? Oh my god, is he big? He looks like he's packing-" "Mia!" I squeak. My cheeks are on fire and I'm mortified with the amount of eyes on us.

"We didn't have sex." I grit out quietly. "You didn't?" She draws back disappointed. "No." I huff. "Then what did you do?" She sighs. "Nothing. I already told you that. We didn't do anything." I grumble.

"Ahhh," she nods like it finally all clicked. Like I just told her everything she needed to know.

"So that's it then. You didn't do anything. That's whats got your panties in a bunch!" She smirks. "My panties are not in a bunch." I reply un-coolly. "I knew it." She wears a smug grin. "I knew you liked him!"

"Shut up, I do not." I try to brush it off and act natural but it ends up coming out forced and stiff. "Oh my god, you totally want to bone him!" Mia grins.

"You want to bone him." I snort. "True. But I've got a boyfriend." She agrees.

For some reason that gets to me. My eyebrows pull together and I fix her with a pout because that's not fair, I want to bone him. My eyes go wide with the realization and a small gasp escapes my lips. She's smirking mischievously before I can even say it out loud.

Luckily, my phone goes off and I don't have to say it out loud. I don't have to say anything at all.

"Hello?" I answer the call without checking who it is.
