I wake to the familiar sound of baby babble and quiet giggles. Before my eyes can even bother to open, a smile spreads across my face.
Slowly, I flutter my sleepy lids open to see the adorable blonde baby playing with a very pregnant cat's ear, mumbling nonsense and giggling when the cat licks at her tiny arm.
They haven't gotten much play time together since Sarah's been pregnant just to be on the safe side of things. Though she's never acted up with Stella. They're basically best friends.
"You two gossipers, you better not be talking about me." I tease groggily, poking at Stella's tummy. She stops mid-babbling to giggle and look at me. "Morning kitten, how long have you been up?" I coo, turning to check the time on my alarm clock.
It's way past Stella's usual schedule and I'll have to call daycare to let them know she wont be going in today.
Michael's still asleep, passed out in the way I've learned that Clifford's do. He looks peaceful and almost as adorable as Stella so much so that I just want to kiss him.
Then I realize, I can. I can kiss him if I want to - when I want to. He was mine now. Finally. No bullshit and games. Just me and him. Me, him, and Stella. My smile widens so much I think it'd probably hurt a bit if I wasn't so extremely filled with happiness.
But he's sleeping. I don't want to wake him. I also maybe don't want to be the first one to break in the new set of rules. Plus it'd be weird to be the first to kiss him while he was sleeping. He wont even know it happen.
What if he wants to be the first to break in the new rules? Then what? I'd have to lie to him because really I already stole that first step from him. So it'd be his first and our second which means we wouldn't even be on the same page already.
If we're not on the same page then how are things going to work out for the better?
"Come on you, lets let them get some more sleep." I get to my feet, lifting Stella off the bed with me. "I already fed her," Michael grumbles muffled by the pillow he's sleeping on. "What?"
"I made breakfa.." He trails off tiredly. "You made breakfast?" I ask with a slight frown because I would have very much liked to have been apart of breakfast. Michael hums his confirmation. "You didn't wake me?" I pout. "You were sleeping." He mumbles, still half asleep. "Didn't wanna wake you."
I bite back a smile. "You made breakfast." "I made breakfast," he sighs, turning over.
I nod, leaning down to kiss his cheek. Technically he was awake.

When Michael wakes up he appears in the entryway of the living room all messy flat hair, loose limbs and sleepy eyes. Stella's still running around in her diaper, trying to find a way to get past Sarah's gate and I myself haven't even bothered to change.
It's still fairly early so I have some cartoons playing on the TV while I finish tidying up a little. With Mia and Matt staying over then Michael and Stella, the house was looking slightly on the messier side.
"Morning," I mutter. I'm nervous. I don't know why I am but I am. So incredibly, incredibly, nervous. I shouldn't be though. It's just Michael. Michael who I spent pretty much every day with, Michael who I've seen naked, Michael who I love.
Maybe that's what it was. The love thing. Yes we both said it already but for some reason I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
In other words, I was worrying about him taking it back. Taking it all back. I was waiting for the part where he realizes this isn't what he wanted.
