Shiva was sitting on his seat at the top of the Kailash Mountain. Lakshmi and Vishnu were standing in front of them. Vishnu's eyes played that he was about to make a sarcastic comment to Shiva when he himself stopped it.
"Why are you here, Sakha? I know you come here often but today you both are here so there must be a reason."
"Mahadev" Lakshmi spoke, "Today we are here on behalf of the gods. They have a plea to you"
"And what is it?" Shiva asked.
"Sakha, you have finally reunited with Sati but she hasn't channelled her powers yet. She is Shakti, the power of this universe. She is the one that resides among us so we think it's time that she realises her true form." Vishnu answered. Shiva stayed quite for a while.
"You know it can be tedious for Sati but alright as per all of your wishes, I will start helping through gaining her powers. "
"Narayan!" suddenly Sati's voice made everyone turn towards her. Lakshmi smiled and hugged her
"I haven't seen you in so long Sati. How have you been?"
"I'm good Devi Lakshmi" Sati smiled in return.
"And does my sister remember me?" Vishnu teased from behind.
"How can I forget, brother. You both have helped me so much. It is because of you that I have been able to get to my Mahadev. All credit goes to you." Sati said, with her palms joined.
"No Sati" Vishnu replied, "It was your unconditional love for him that has made you get him. I was just a helper in getting you together because believe me Shiva's aloofness was kind of getting boring. It's good to see he is alive again!"
Shiva gave him a side glance and Sati chuckled.
"Okay but now Lakshmi and I are leaving. We'll leave you two alone. Farewell! " Saying so, Vishnu and Lakshmi disappeared. Shiva then got up from his seat and went near Sati.
"Sati, I know it will be hard for you but I think it's time you get in touch with your inner power. You are Shakti. Without you, this world is weak so they need you to realise yourself."
"I can understand, Mahadev but how can I do it? I have no prior knowledge about it" said Sati. Shiva smiled and held her shoulders.
"That is not a thing to worry about, Sati. I will help you with everything. I will guide you through meditation so you can tap into your inner yogic powers."
Sati agreed. Shiva took her to one of the caves and asked Nandi to guard the entrance. They sat in front of each other and Shiva went into his yogic posture, with his legs folded and hands on his knees. Sati followed him. In a while, Sati had a divine aura around her as Shiva supported her with his powers. Then from her emerged the goddess, Bhuvaneswari. The Goddess of the fourteen worlds. She was four armed and was clad in a blue saree and adorned in precious jewellery. A crescent moon rested on her crown, just like Shiva. Her upper two hands held a noose and a hook and her two lower arms were in the 'Vara - Abhaya' mudra. She had a mesmerising smile on her face.
Shiva opened his eyes and smiled.
"Devi, it's time Sati gets to know herself and only you can invoke that knowledge in her. You are Mahamaya and you have kept yourself in illusion by your will but the world needs you. I need you."
The Goddess stayed silent for a while and then spoke.
"Hey Ashutosh! I can understand your concern. It is true that I have forgone myself by my will but it is you who can awaken me again. It will be a difficult process and it cannot be done in hurry which is why I'm worried. Sati isn't capable of it yet and I'm worried that.... "
"That it might be too late" Shiva completed her sentence, solemnly. The Goddess agreed.
"It's alright" Shiva said, "I will not give up. I will do everything to make her realise herself."
Goddess Bhuvaneswari smiled and nodded and then disappeared. Meanwhile, Sati was feeling restless and as soon as the Goddess disappeared, she fell unconscious.
"Sati!" Shiva cried as he rushed to her. He took her in his arms and called for Nandi. Nandi came in and was shocked to see Sati unconscious.
"Prabhu! What happened to Mata?" he cried out.
"It's alright Nandi. Sati is fine. Can you bring some water?"
Nandi rushed to bring water and handed it to Shiva.
"Prabhu I'll be right outside if you need anything"
Shiva nodded and Nandi went outside. Shiva sprinkled some water on Sati and caressed her head. After a while, she woke up. He helped her to sit up.
"Are you alright, Sati?" Shiva asked.
Sati nodded. Then she looked at him.
"What happened, Mahadev?"
"It's nothing, Sati. Your mortal body wasn't able to handle your energy. That's why you had passed out but you are okay now."
Sati became quite and looked away.
"What happened?" Shiva asked.
"I... I can't even handle my own power. What am I going to do?" She said, teary eyed. Shiva held her chin.
"Look at me. You are perfect. Yes your human body might take some time but soon you will achieve your goal. And anyways, you will always and forever be my Shakti no matter what" Shiva assured her with a smile. She smiled in return and nodded. He embraced her and ran his fingers through her hair.
"I love you"
"I love you, too."
