Years had passed since the disaster that took place at Daksha's sacrifice. Daksha had renounced everything and had gone to Kashi with his wife as a Shiva devotee.

No one had heard from Shiva since Sati's death. It was speculated that he was somewhere in the Himalayas, in deep meditation but nobody had seen him which was a fact of worry.

Meanwhile, without the presence of Shiva and Shakti, demonic energy had arose. They were causing havoc everywhere and their main perpetrator was the demon king, Tarakasur. He was the son of the demon Vajranga and Varangi. He was cunning and manipulative. He knew that if he needed power and wanted to take over heaven, then he'd need to observe penance and ask for a unique boon. He knew he couldn't get immortality so he had asked for a boon that was near to immortality. He had meditated upon Brahma. When Brahma had asked him to ask for a boon, Tarakasur had asked that only the commander of the Gods can kill him and he had to be Shiva's son. Tarakasur knew that Shiva's wife had passed away and he was detached from everything so it would be impossible for him to bear a son. After getting his desired boon, he had gained immense power and had taken over heaven. The Gods had become refugees so on Indra's insistence, they visited Brahma and Vishnu who in turn suggested that they should pray to Goddess Adi Shakti as she was the only one who can help them. Upon their suggestion, all the deities started to pray to the Goddess. Pleased, Goddess Adi Parashakti, appeared in front of them. She is the creator of this world. She had a intense glow. In her 18 hands, she held many weapons and a third eye shone on her forehead.

"Oh dieties, I'm pleased by your prayer. What is the reason that you call upon me?" She spoke in a powerful voice.

"Mother, please help us.Tarakasur has taken over Amravati and the entire swarga. Demonic energy has prevailed on Earth. People are in danger. We Gods are in danger because only Lord Shiva's offspring can kill him and it is not possible without you. Please aid us, Oh Goddess! " Indra pleaded.

"Yes Devi. Anyways, Shiva has been reclusive for a long time which is the affecting the world. The Universe has lost its balance. It's time you come back. The world needs Shakti again" said Vishnu. The Goddess smiled.

"I assure you that I will soon take birth again. The King of the Himalayas, Himavan and his wife Maina are doing penance to have me as their daughter. I will take birth as the Himalayan princess. Don't worry."

The Gods were assured by the Goddess's words and went back and started waiting for her arrival.

In the Himalayas, King Himavan and Queen Mainavati were in deep meditation. They wanted the Goddess Adi Shakti as their daughter so they performed the Devi Vrat everyday and soon the day arrived when the Goddess appeared in her full glory.

"Maharaj Himavan, Maharani Mainavati, open your eyes. I'm pleased by your devotion. Ask for a boon" the Goddess said.

The couple joined their hands and saluted the Goddess. Queen Mainavati had tears in her eyes as she spoke.

"Mother, we are grateful that we got to have your vision. All our wishes have been fulfilled but to ask for something... Mata, destiny has granted us precious children. A son and a daughter but we will be honored if you take birth in our house. Mata, it is our heartiest desire to have you as our daughter".

The Goddess smiled and nodded.

"So be it. I will take birth as your daughter. Truth be told, it will be my honor as well to have both of you as my parents. Maharani, when I was Sati, you had taken great care of me just like a mother and your wish to have me as your daughter wasn't unknown to me and that is why I chose you both as my parents this time. My main motive of this birth is to reunite with Mahadev. I hope you will not restrict my path."

"Never, Mata" King Himavan said. "It will be my greatest privilege to be your father and I promise you that I will be with you and support you all through your life, in all your decisions."

The Goddess smiled and disappeared.

Soon, the auspicious day arrived. On the full moon night of the Navami tithi of the Chaitra month, Goddess Adi Parashakti took birth as the daughter of the Himalayas. The entire universe rejoiced on the arrival of Shakti. King Himavan took his newborn daughter in his arms and lovingly caressed her tiny face. Her skin was glowing like the first ray of the sun in the morning and her eyes were like two newly bloomed lotuses. The King teared up.

"Today I'm the luckiest man in this universe. I've got the honor to be your father. You are my daughter. You are Shailaputri. You are the daughter of the mountains and that's why I name you 'Parvati'."

The name echoed through the mountains and reached Shiva who was in deep Samadhi and for the first time in years, he opened his eyes and whispered.

"Parvati!"

With this, from an end, blossomed the bud of a new beginning.
