Trigger warning : Violence, gore.

Seeing that he was in the odds, Daksha took refugee in Vishnu.

"Prabhu! You have to help me. You had promised to protect my yagna. Please save me from that demon."

"That's no demon, Daksha. That is Veerbhadra. Shivas's most furious form who is here to destroy you. I cannot stand against him but as I have given my word, I will try but I cannot promise you anything" Vishnu said and then approached Veerbhadra. Seeing Vishnu in front of him, Veerbhadra stopped.

"Narayan, move from the way. I need to get to Daksha."

"I'm sorry but I am bound by my promise. I have to stop you" saying so, Vishnu caught Veerbhadra in a Naga Pasha. Now Veerbhadra was caught. He couldn't move.

"Vishnu, let me go! You know just like you, I too am bound by my duty. I have to take revenge" Veerbhadra growled.

"I'm sorry but I have no choice" Vishnu said.

"Well then I have no choice either. I have to call her. BHADRAKALI!"

As soon as Veerbhadra called, a dark female figure appeared. With bloodshot eyes, Bhadrakali looked at Vishnu and then freed Veerbhadra.

"Vishnu, you were my brother. I can understand your duty was to your devotee but still you sided with adharma" Bhadrakali said to Vishnu.

"I know. But now you have freed me from my word. You both can carry on with your job now. It's my time to leave."

Vishnu disappeared and Veerbhadra and Bhadrakali marched on to the sacrifice. As they entered, everyone became still. Veerbhadra glared at Daksha and seeing him Daksha tried to run away. Prasuti got up and now rushed to Veerbhadra and fell at his feet.

"Please my Lord! Spare my husband's life. He definitely deserves punishment but please spare his life."

But Veerbhadra didn't heed to her plea and moved forward. Then the warriors of Bhrigu, or at least those who were still left, stood in the way. Seeing that Veerbhadra was stuck in an obstacle, Bhadrakali signalled him to go ahead as she dealt with their problem and as told, all the warriors were destroyed in a moment by Bhadrakali's breath of fire. Daksha realised he had no one to protect him so he tried to run. But before he could, Veerbhadra grabbed his neck and dragged him towards the pyre. Daksha started to plead.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Just let me go. I will call on Shiva. I will give him his due position. Just let me go."

Veerbhadra glanced at Bhadrakali who nodded. Then he brought Daksha near the place where the ritualistic goat was sacrificed. He grabbed his neck and with one slash of his sword, he cut off Daksha's head. Then he threw his decapitated head into the fire which burnt to ashes. He gathered all the blood that was spread and gave it to Bhadrakali who drank it with fury. Everyone was stunned to see the actions played out. It was extremely violent but they knew it was what Daksha deserved. Prasuti started to sob again. Loosing her daughter and her husband the same day was too much for her. Rohini and her other sisters tried to comfort her.

"It's of no use to be here, Brahma Dev" Saraswati said.

"You're right. We are not needed here anymore. I think we should better go to Shiva" Brahma said and him along with Saraswati and Lakshmi left the venue.

Having done their job, Veerbhadra and Bhadrakali too disappeared. The place that was so beautifully decked up and decorated just a while ago now had turned into a gravyard.

Meanwhile Brahma, Saraswati and Lakshmi along with all the Gods reached Kailash to meet Shiva and found that Vishnu was already there. This time, he wasn't there to plead for the world. He wasn't there as the protector of the universe but as a grieving brother who was trying to comfort his best friend who just lost his wife. Shiva had a blank expression on his face, looking into the abyss. He looked lifeless. Like he had said, he was really like a corpse without his Shakti. He had no more tears left to cry and now sat in grave silence. Vishnu sensed the arrival of the guests and wiped his own tears.

"You all are here! Then it's best to assume that Daksha is dead."

"Yes Shri Hari. He is dead and the entire yagna is destroyed. So many people died. We need Shiva to go and save them" said Brahma.

Vishnu glanced at Shiva once and turned to them again.

"Does he look like he is in that state? Look at him, he hasn't moved since I arrived. He last cried on my shoulders when I came and then has been in complete and utter silence. Do you think he is in the state of mind to go to Daksha's place right now?"

"We can understand Narayan, but if he doesn't go, what will happen? Destruction is everywhere" now Indra pleaded. Vishnu sighed.

"I understand"

Vishnu then called out to Shiva.

"Sakha, look we have some guests"

Shiva looked at the Gods with an expressionless face and then spoke in a voice which was barely a whisper.

"You all are here?"

"Mahadev! We understand what grief you are going through now. I too lost both my granddaughter and my son but I'm not here for me. Daksha was conducting this sacrifice for the betterment of the world and if it is not completed, then the world will be in utter chaos. And without Daksha, there will be no stability. So I'm begging you Shankara, please come and restore the destruction. Hey Swyambhu, this is our plea to you. Please save the world" Brahma said with joint hands. Following Brahma's words, the Gods started chanting the Shiva Panchakshari Mantra in order to please Mahadev. Now he came to his senses.

Shiva stood up and took his trishul.

"Alright. I will go."

Shiva's words assured all the Gods and they let out a sigh of relief.
