Few weeks after returning from the forest, Prasuti, Daksha's wife found out that she was pregnant. Everyone rejoiced for the arrival of the new prince/princess. But Daksha and Prasuti knew who was coming.

9 months later...

It was a stormy night, heavy wind was blowing. Daksha was standing on the balcony of his palace looking out praying to his ishta dev. Prasuti was in labor. Suddenly, a maid came out of Prasuti's room.

"It's a girl, Maharaj it's a girl" she exclaimed.

Daksha's happiness knew no bounds. He gave the maid his gold necklace and ran into the room. There was Prasuti, laying on her bed with a smile on her face. Beside her was the most beautiful baby girl, wrapped in a white cloth. She was sleeping peacefully. Daksha had tears in his eyes and lifted his daughter. There was a radiant glow on her face. He knew it was Adi Shakti Mahamaya herself.  The nature seemed to get a new life. The flowers started to bloom. There was a divine aura everywhere.

Back in Vaikuntha, Goddess Lakshmi came running to Vishnu.

"She has arrived Narayan. The moment we waited for has come!"
Narayan smiled at her and nodded. But he knew deep inside, what the future has in store.

Meanwhile, in Daksha's kingdom, celebrations were going. Daksha had invited his son in law and one of the saptarishis, Rishi kashyap to bless his daughter and to name her. The moment Rishi kashyap saw the child, he knew who she was. The child was named Dakshyani, the daughter of Daksha, much to his happiness. It was Narada who granted her another named.

"It is a beautiful name brother, I agree but I have a better suggestion for her" he had said.
"She will be the epitome of truth so she will be known as 'Sati'".

Daksha was happy. His daughter was a matter of pride for him. He would spoil her with everything he had, he thought and she wouldn't need anybody else.

But one thing he made sure that she never knew. That one name that was like poison to his ears.
