Mahamaya had quietly appeared at Kailash. The place she used to call home. And in front of her was sitting the man who was her everything. Her Shiva. She stared at him, his fair body covered in ash. His hair matted which reached his waist, almost to the length of her own curls. There was no gorgeous pieces of clothing and jewellery like the other gods but he was simply adored with a tiger skin and Rudraksh beads around his neck, wrists and arms. But this was way more majestic than any heavenly attire. He was the epitome of masculinity but yet was so soft and kind and gentle.
She was lost in her thoughts when she heard him.
"I know when you are here Shakti."
She chuckled a bit. He could always sense her near him. He opened his eyes and met her gaze. His deep brown eyes contained so much depth and knowledge than one can comprehend but foremost it bore an ocean of love for her.
" It's been a long time since I came" She replied with a smile.
"Hmm I almost thought that you forgot about me" He teased.
She chuckled again, "Well how can that be possible, my darling? You are half of me and one can never forget themselves".
Now he stood up and went near her.
"Something tells me that you're not just here to check up on me."
"Well yes. I have blessed Brahma's son, Daksha to be born as his daughter. This will pave the way for us to unite once again" Shakti said. Shiva became grim.
"What's wrong Shiva?"
"You too know right that this path isn't going to be the easiest? It will take you through a journey of love and grief. Are you ready for that my Mahamaya?" Shiva questioned, his eyes slightly moist.
Mahamaya walked closer to him and held his face, tears forming in her eyes.
"I know but what is love if it doesn't test your pain? Pain churns out the purest nectar of love and that is way more pleasurable than the moments of grief. It's worth it. I am ready for anything to be with you"
"As you wish" Shiva said and took her hands in his and lifted her chin, connecting their lips. He knew he wouldn't get her near him for a long time and savoured these last moments with her. She too gave in to the warmth and love that radiated from him.
After some time, they parted. As she began to leave, Shiva called her from behind, "I will be waiting for you, my love."
She smiled and replied, "Me too". Saying so she disappeared before him once again. He too closed his eyes again for he meant what he had said.
