Betrayal: The Storm

To make Faust and Colt's situation even worse, they couldn't find Kevin anywhere, no matter how hard they looked.
They were back on the ship, Faust looking at a map to determine where Pakki could have gone, while Colt was looking at the red gem Pakki had on his necklace.
"We should head back to Etris... At least for now." Faust said as he started up the ship.
Colt merely nodded as a response.

As their ship closed in on Etris, they could see several other large ships - and several fires on the city high up in the mountains.
"What the hell's happening...?!" Faust asked.
Colt put Pakki's necklace away, getting off the boat and seeing the Etrean guards' corpses. "Those ships... It's the Authority!"
Faust jumped off the ship. "God fucking damn it... First Gwen dies... Then when we finally get out of that hellhole, we're sent to fight some Duke... Then my brother tells me he killed me once and he'll do it again... Then my best friend betrays us and now THIS SHIT?!" He said as he got up to the capital.
One of the Authority soldiers rushed him, to which Faust knocked him off the mountains with a heavy strike.
Colt attempted to stop him, but to no avail as Faust pushed on, being hit several times by the soldiers but continuing on to kill them.
Faust was enraged at everything that had happened in the past few months, and he was taking it out on the attacking forces.
Colt took on enemy soldiers one by one, only to see Faust cornered because he took on too many.

He conjured up a lightning lance in his arms before throwing it at the soldiers attacking Faust, pushing them off the mountains.
The Authority forces soon started retreating back to their ships, several Etreans following to kill more of them.
Faust quickly got down from the mountains, jumping atop his stolen Ironclad and swiftly sinking one of the Authority ships.
Colt followed him, somewhat behind him. "That's enough already... They're retreating."
"Nah it isn't... These fuckers attacked our home. I'm not letting them get away that easy." Faust replied as he started the ship, following the remaining Authority ships.
"Faust, come on- you should rest--" Colt said, but Faust interrupted.
"I'm fine. Really."

They soon arrived at Fort Merit, a former Etrean Fort taken over by the Authority and used as a prison. Faust parked his ship in their docks, drawing his weapon and jumping off the ship.
An Authority Captain attempted to stop him, but Faust parried his attacks, coating his greatsword in blue flames and breaking right through the captain's armour.
As Faust walked towards the Fort, Colt tried to stop him. "What the hell are you doing..?!"
Faust burst the door to the prison down, a guard flying inside alongside it. "Making them pay for this bullshit..."
A captain drew his saber, ready to run at Faust, who used his resonance to send him away with a sharp burst of wind.

Colt went down into the lower part of the building, freeing a bunch of prisoners.
As he cut the ropes that tied the hands of an Etrean soldier, the soldier spoke up. "Wait... My wife... She's captured too... Please, you've got to find her."
Colt nodded. "Yeah.. okay, I'll--"
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out as a captain holding a rifle spear attempted to shoot the soldier. "This thing is worthless." The captain said as he tossed the rifle aside, pulling out his saber instead.
The Etrean soldier looked at the captain, clearly traumatized.
A female voice rang out from one of the cells. "Don't hurt him!! Please, he's had enough!"
The captain glared at Colt and the soldier. "He's a prisoner of war... Torture should be expected." He looked at Colt. "I'm giving you an opportunity to run away, kid."
Colt took his rifle spear out. "Not a chance."
The captain glared at him, the temperature of the room dropping. "I take it you're the one freeing all our prisoners? Pointless... You won't save them."
Colt pointed the rifle spear at the captain. "Then I'll die trying."

An icicle suddenly formed above Colt, which he barely dodged, only for the enemy soldier to jump in front of him, slashing at him.
Colt just about parried the slash, taking a step back to dodge another before stabbing at the Adret soldier.
The captain stepped to the side, letting another icicle drop above Colt while he prepared to strike.
Colt had to make a split-second decision, and so he dodged the icicle, getting hit by the slash.
He stumbled back, trying to instinctively parry the next one, except the captain didn't slash again. He instead spun around, encasing his leg in ice and kicking Colt back into the wall.
Colt yelped in pain, quickly stumbling up as the Adret slashed at him again, this time getting him in a blade lock before stabbing him with an ice arc, throwing him over himself, making him drop his rifle spear.
As the captain approached him, Colt suddenly jumped up, throwing one of the icicles into his eye, carrying his momentum to flip forward into a handstand, kicking the captain further back while he could grab his rifle spear off the ground before landing on his feet again.
The captain tried to take a step towards him, but Colt hit him with the butt of the spear, pushing him back as he got stabbed in the side by an ice spike coming from the captain's arm. The captain prepared to strike him, before Colt summoned lightning onto the ice spike, sending electricity into the captain and making him flinch - which was all the time he needed. He quickly lined up the shot, before pulling the trigger without hesitation.
