Rumbling: FIGHT!

As the entire island of Etris started to shake from the footsteps of the megalodaunts marching onto it, the Etrean forces surrendered.
One of the divers looked at the Rumbling in horror, shouting at Kevin. "Wh-What's happening?!"
Kevin looked at the diver, shouting back. "It's the Rumbling!"
The diver narrowed their eyes, weapon still drawn. "What does that mean...?! Are they enemies?!"
Kevin looked at the megalodaunts as they marched passed them, Pakki making them avoid all soldiers since Etrea surrendered.
"No... It means we won!" Kevin replied.
"Huh?! I can't hear you!"
"WE WIN! HUMANITY WON!" Kevin yelled at the diver, trying to outyell the footsteps of the monsters.
The Authority captain wiped blood off of his forehead. "So this is the power of the Songspeaker... It's like... He's the king of all animals."

Zi'eer looked between his three remaining opponents. Pakki was busy controlling the entirety of the Rumbling. The Duke was constantly attacking him and Faust was always looking for an opportunity to strike, and strike hard. Zi'eer saw the Megalodaunts approaching him, he had to choose a target to eliminate, fast.
He waited until the Duke sent slicing winds at him, before counterattacking with a swarm of tendrils. The Duke surrounded himself in a wind shield that he then burst outward to send the tendrils away.
Another powerful tendril flew right for him while he was open from the defense.
Pakki looked at Duke for a second. "Fuck..."
The tendril yanked out of Duke, ripping his heart out.
Faust immediately coated his scythe in blue flames, slicing off several of Zi'eer's tentacles.
Zi'eer screeched in pain, sweeping at Faust.
It was a direct hit, sending Faust flying into a wall - only for it to turn into feathers, revealing it to be a clone. The real Faust was off to the side, sending fire from his palm, empowered through Galebreathe which he used through Emperor's Will. "You fell it for it, dumbass!"

Faust and Pakki backed off from Zi'eer as the monsters stormed him. He'd fight them off, but every so often one or two hits would connect. As the time passed, Megalodaunts slowly chipped away at Zi'eer.
Regent suddenly stabbed all the nearby megalodaunts through the chest, the tendrils then going for both Faust and Pakki. This attack however, would leave him open, letting megalodaunts finish him off and sending all three of them to the Depths.
Colt looked at the three of them disappear. "Shit...!"
Kevin stumbled over to them. "Colt...?"
Colt smiled. "Hey... I got out of the Depths."
Pat walked up to the two of them. "So... Do either of you know any way to heal? We're all pretty wounded..."
Kevin summoned a graceful flame, Gwen's regenerating modifier having been taught to him by Faust. "Here..."
Colt pointed his spear at Matthew. "You--"
Matthew sat down at the flame. "Chill out. I'm not going to fight any of you... I had enough of Kenny's shit."
Pat tilted his head. "Wait... You were an enemy?!"
Colt sighed. "Yeah... One of the people that got me killed. Didn't you realize how important this fight was?!"
Matthew shrugged. "I do now... I was never really a part of the Hundred Legions. I just tagged along as an assassin. Especially since they had no connections to the voidwalkers... Or at least I thought. Fucking voidwalkers... Always stealing my bounties."

Suddenly, the monsters started retreating.
Pat stood up, looking at the monsters. "What-- what does that mean?..."
Colt narrowed his eyes for a moment. "...it means Pakki doesn't need them anymore."
"...So he and Faust won." Kevin replied.
Down in the Depths, Pakki woke up dangling above a canyon leading down into the abyss.
Zi'eer dropped Pakki, who quickly sent a tentacle into the side of the mountain, catching himself slamming into the canyon feet first. He slowly started to climb up.
Faust backed up, trying the parry and dodge the constant onslaught of attacks from Zi'eer, getting hit occasionally. He'd slice off tentacles, jump above some, deflect others, but when he got hit, he'd get a hole in his side and such.
Pakki, too, was being attacked, but since he had to climb back up on the side of a canyon, he couldn't defend himself.
As he slowly managed to get back onto the top of the canyon, he stumbled forward, the tentacle he used falling into pieces. "Fight... Fight, even if you can't anymore!"
Thinking for a moment, he screamed, sending the monsters back to where they came from.
As he did this, Zi'eer saw his chance, stabbing at him with a tendril. Pakki was impaled, but kept going forward. "Fight... Fight....!"
Several other tendrils flew for Pakki, most of which were aimed at his head.
Faust jumped onto Zi'eer, slicing his body in half with a fiery slash of his scythe. "GOTCHA!"
The tendrils were weakened from this attack on Zi'eer, allowing Pakki to block them with his crescent Cleaver, which broke in the process.
Pakki dropped his cleaver, summoning a massive shadow greatsword in it's place. He raised Yun'Shul's blade along with Shade Bringer into the air as Zi'eer spirit ascebded from his body.

"I did it... I fought..." Pakki said bringing both blades through Zi'eer's spirit, killing it permanently without a shadow of a doubt. "...Even when I couldn't anymore..."
The strings binding Pakki disappeared along with Zi'eer's last thoughts: "The way he resisted me even with the oath... It was just sheer willpower..."

Faust was leaning on his scythe, Pakki collapsed on the ground when Klaris found them. She slid next to Pakki. "You did it... The both of you can rest now..."
Faust smirked. "Being awesome... Takes it's toll..."
Klaris shook Pakki before putting a hand on his wrist, checking for a pulse. As she did, it felt like something terrible entered her mind, saying something unintelligible, even to her.
Moments later Faust shook her. "Well...?"
Klaris spoke up after a few moments. "He's... Dead..."
Faust's eyes widened. "No- there's no way...." He checked for a pulse as well. "Fuck..."

Klaris took a deep breath. "Stay here. I'll get one of the divers who can heal." With that, she left to find help.
Faust sat around for a moment, before spotting the 'dead' Humanity's Soldiers being attacked by monsters.
He stumbled up, going to help them.
"Hey... It'd be easier if you were here, Pakki..."
Wave after wave of monsters, he fought them off so that the army could return back to the surface. Though there was no stop to them.
By the time Klaris got back, Faust too, was dead, with piles of dead monsters. Whatever took him out in the end, Faust took it down with himself, ultimately saving Humanity's Soldiers.

On the surface, when the soldiers returned, they informed the remaining soldiers who never died of what happened.
After a few moments, Kevin stood up onto a small podium built off of rubble.
"Today, numerous nations joined together to fight something that threatened the entire world. The Ministry. They planned to cause the second coming of the Tides, sinking the majority of this world in order to become gods. But we stopped them. And freed the nation of Etrea from their grasp. Thanks to our efforts, the Tides will not happen again. But... No victory is without sacrifice." Kevin teared up for a moment.
"Patrick Jaeger, the main perpetrator of this battle and the one responsible for the Rumbling died to make sure Zi'eer couldn't come back. From what I hear, Outpost Antumbra was completely taken over by monsters after the entire island of Minityrsa was flooded by monsters.
Faust Ytreshi died making sure you all get out. He was a key factor in defeating Zi'eer, being the one to destroy his physical body. Thanks to him, he and Pakki are the only casualties we suffered.
Humanity's Soldiers were victorious. You all fought bravely... Reward yourselves! And don't let anyone... Take your loved ones away."
Kevin finished, stepping off the makeshift stage.
Colt ran after him, to comfort him. After all, he did lose two of his three remaining 'family' members.

Days later, Colt was back in his diver room, reminiscing about everyone he met.
"Faust and Pakki died fighting Zi'eer. Without them, this whole thing would've been a failure. And I..." He said, looking at Gwen's katana. "...Never could have gotten revenge..."
"Kevin Donnet remained amongst the ranks of the Ignition Union, trying to make peace with the divers through diplomacy.
Pat and Matthew Rashet work as Etrean bounty hunters together, helping the nation get back on its feet.
Falco Drakeheart's corpse was found near Faust's, leading most to believe he also killed Falco before he was eventually killed by monsters.
Klaris Korilfiend returned to her duties as a black diver, although she would occasionally vomit a strange, shadowy substance. Neither the Divers nor the Union know what this could be.
Kenny's whereabouts are unknown, but most assume he died in the Depths.
Melodias Ytreshi's whereabouts are also unknown, but most assume he went back to working with the Duke Erisia.
The Duke of Erisia returned to Erisia after getting out of the Depths, continuing his previous life.
The alliance known as Humanity's Soldiers split up on friendly terms shortly after the end of the second Rumbling.
And I, Colt Kalinof... Am one of the contenders for the next king of Etrea. I don't know what I'll do yet..."
