Faust walked into the Ignition Union's headquarters on the surface.
Meanwhile, Pakki entered the still under-reconstruction Fort Merit.
Colt went to talk to the Hivelord and other high-ranking Hive officers.
"Thank you for having me..." Colt started.
"I wanted to talk to you about something serious. A favour I need to ask you." Faust continued.
"What is it you want?" The Authority soldier in charge of the Etrean territory of his faction asked.
"I'm asking you... To fight for me, in a war." Pakki answered.
"A war?! For a stranger?!" The Authority soldier replied.
Colt looked at the Hivelord. "You... Look like you've been through it. The Tides I mean. It's the reason this place exists. I know a way to stop it from happening again."
"Against the Ministry..? Doesn't seem like something... Beneficial. Look--" The Ignition Union soldier replied to Faust.
"Wait! Haven't you ever been attacked by them?!" Pakki asked.
"Unless you want a new layer of the Depths--" Faust continued.
"... You've just got to help us. Even nature will be on our side." Colt finished it.
"Look, kid. I can't just send my troops into battle like this--" The Authority soldier tried to answer, but Pakki cut him off.
"In those battles, the people who died - did they die for nothing?! Are you just gonna let it slide?!"
"You've spent all this money and effort on the second and first layer... You can conquer the Depths but what does it matter if it just forms a new layer?" Faust asked.
The Ignition Union soldier sighed. "Fine... We'll do it."
Pakki looked into the Authority soldier's eye. "I'm sure you've lost people... They go to the Depths. The first layer - which was created by the Ministry! Are you going to act and change something?! Or are you going to sit back and let yourself and the rest of the world be sitting prey?!" He had a burning hatred in his eye. "Which one are you going to be... Prey... ....Or the Jäger? All I ask for is an attack on the Ministry when I'm ready. That's gonna be my chance... To wipe them all out."
The Authority soldier reluctantly agreed. "Fine. Since you won't go away until I do it... And I don't have the heart to kill a kid..." He turned away, waking away. "Just tell us where and when to strike."
One of the lower ranking soldiers looked at him. "I think his little speech got to you--"
The high ranking soldier looked back. "Shut up...""I don't think you understand what you're asking... These people-- These KIDS are rookies. There's no way in hell they're gonna defeat anything. Let alone a Ministry soldier." Klaris told Kevin.
"You saw what happened with Nathan. And it won't be just the Divers..." Kevin replied.
Klaris shook her head. "Yeah, there's gonna be you, those 3 and a few monsters controlled by Jaeger..."
Kevin looked at her a little smugly. "...And the Authority, and the Hive and the Union."
Klaris glared up at him. "You-- You're aware this could very well start a war with ALL of these factions, right?!"
Kevin's orange eyes met Klaris' white ones. "The alternative is sacrificing the entire world."
Klaris shook her head, closing her eyes and thinking for a moment. "Fine... But they better return in one piece!"
Kevin nodded. "Thanks..." He turned to leave.
Klaris looked after him. "Hey, Kevin..."
Kevin looked back at her. "Yeah?"
Klaris looked away. "...Be careful... Okay?"
Kevin nodded. "Of course. I won't die. And if I do, I'll get back out of the Depths."As Pakki went back to a spot near the Meteor Isles in Starswept Valley, where they set up camp, he couldn't find his friends. "They're supposed to be here already.." He said, looking behind a large rock, only to have someone jump on him from behind, putting a cloth over his mouth to stop him from speaking. The man took his weapons away, tying his hands behind his back. "Not a word. Because of your little ability, the moment you make a noise, you're as good as dead."
He took him to the camp, where he saw Colt and Faust tied up in a similar manner before he went to report to his higher-up.
Faust looked at him, sighing. "You too?... We just can't catch a break..."
Colt scanned his friends before speaking up. "Cooperate with them. For now. We'll break out when I see a chance but.. We're gonna need a plan."
A man wearing the Hundred Legions' uniform and armor walked up to them. "You three..."
He cleared his throat. "My name's Kenny. Captain Kenny to you. You're probably wondering what the Eleventh Legion wants with you..."
Colt stayed silent letting him talk.
"Well, before you try any of your little tricks, I know exactly who you are and what you are capable of. Colt Kalinof, a Celtorian. Wields a stolen rifle spear, and is a mediocre user of Thundercall. Although you don't have a resonance, there's no doubt in my mind you'd unlock it if the situation... Came to it." Kenny continued before turning to Faust. "Faust Ytreshi. Considered by some to be the traitor of Divers, as you moved to the Ignition Union's side. A natural at combat and is a master of Flamecharm. Furthermore, you've taken an oath as a Visionshaper. And then there's that pesky resonance of yours... Emperor's Will. If you can set up a connection through The Song, you can perfectly copy any usage of it, though you can only store one type at a them. Honestly, they told me to look out for you."
He finally looked at Pakki. "As for you... Patrick Jaeger. You went through some kind of Trial using the Ministry, granting you immense power. You are an avid user of Shadowcast... And you use your own way of fighting. Wielding a Crescent Cleaver in one hand and your fallen friend's Katana in the other. Though these are not what I had to look out for... They told me to be careful with your determination and that damned resonance of yours. Y'know what they call you? 'Songspeaker'. You can control almost any monster by telling it commands, though if it's weak enough compared to you, you can also speak to it telepathically. Interestingly enough, it also seems to have an effect on people, though not complete control, my units say they were persuaded by you... And then there's the fact you don't have a bell on you despite owning a resonance. Honestly? You're more danger than you're worth. If it was up to me, I'd kill you on the spot."Kenny looked at the three of them. "You're all under arrest."
Colt glared at him. "Under arrest?! For what...?!"
Kenny glared right back. "Committing Treason against the Hundred Legions."
"We did nothing wrong!" Colt responded.
Kenny scoffed. "Oh you did. Or is trying to start a war that could span over entire luminants not wrong in your eyes? Hmph. Take pride in that you're going to be our first prisoners in our newly acquired base. Newly acquired from traitors. Take 'em to Fort Merit."
