We walk out to Tom's truck and I climb into the back as they put my suitcase into the trunk. We start speeding off to their apartment which is near the lower side of LA. I look out the window having my 'main character moment' as we drive up to their complex.
Quickly we make it to the elevator since Casey is squirming with excitement because she really wants to do my hair and makeup. What can I say, she's having her older sister moment. As we exit the elevator on their floor she all but runs over to their door dragging me along and dumping my bags in their guest room.
"'Kay what were you planning on wearing?" She asks when she throws me into her bathroom.
"Uhmm just my nice jeans and that one shirt you told me to wear?" I say, genuinely scared of her wide eyes, and smile at the moment.
"Ooh! I'm so excited!! Go change right now so I can get started on your hair!" She says while pulling me out of the bathroom she just threw me in.
Okay... I slowly walk over to the guest room meeting Tom in the hall.
"Hey I know she's a little scary right now, but she's trying to be excited for you. She's also trying to not think about the pain she's feeling of not being able to do this herself, so just go along with it." He says with sincerity in his voice.
"Yeah I know, she's just a little too happy for me to handle right now," I say, laughing. I walk inside the room, shut the door, and open my suitcase, I grab my lilac dad jeans and the white ruffled crop top that has little lilac flowers on it and I go put it on. I walk over to the full-length mirror and look at myself trying to decide which shoes to wear with it. I quickly decide on my Nike Blazers that have a lilac swoosh. Yes, I am slaying right now.
I quickly walk back to the bathroom where Casey was waiting for me. "Ooh girl I told you that was the fit!" she says as I walk in. "Okay sit here and just let me do my magic."
...
"All done! Now admire it very quickly and add jewelry, 'cause we gotta go!" She says happily.
I open my eyes to see she's put my caramel hair into a little half-up-half-down with light curls. She has done a very natural makeup look but added a little more sparkle than I would've, but overall I love it. For a second I can feel like I'm going to nail this audition, but a second is a very short period of time.
I walk out of the bathroom to go grab my jewelry and quickly put them on before I am rushed out the door and back into the back of the truck.
The drive to the theater is a relatively not long drive but it felt like it went by so quickly. Too quick. My nerves absolutely get to me as Casey and I walk inside to go check in while Tom goes to park the truck. We are met with a middle-aged, blonde-haired lady with a kind smile.
"Hi, here to audition?" she asks with a smile on her face. She can clearly see my hands shaking by my side.
"Y-yes."
"Okay and what's the name, dear?" She asks, her smile more sympathetic than last time.
"Pyper Williams," I say and she looks through her list before looking back up and showing us where to go. All still with that smile on her face that is now bothering me a little.
"Thank you," I tell her as we walk over to the door, Thomas soon joining us.
The moment we enter, yet another smiley face finds us. "Hi, are one of you Pyper Williams?" a red-haired, baby-faced man asks. "Yes, that is me," I say shyly while slightly raising my hand.
"Great! If you would follow me, please. You two can stay right here for now."He says while turning away and walking off.
I look at Casey with wide eyes, my heart racing to a million beats per minute. I'm afraid. I'm so scared. She turns back to me and gives me a huge hug and tells me it'll be okay before giving me a slight push after the smiley man.
I nod and slowly walk to catch up with him.
