afterschool movie

(I know I said that I'll update later but I just really wanted to publish this chapter since it was already done almost a week ago)

"C'mon guys. It wasn't that bad" Ricky whines as we walk out of the cinema. Gyuvin, Ricky, freshman Yujin, and I went to watch a horror movie, which by the way, was absolutely one of the scariest movies I've watched in my life.

"What do you mean? That was terrifying!" Gyuvin says, holding onto his school bag for dear life, still shaking.

"What do you mean? There was barely any blood present. And anyways, there were only just a few jumpscares" Ricky argues

"A few?! And anyways, with even a few, jumpscares are always what makes movies more scary"

As they continue to argue, Yujin laughs and looks at me

"Are they dating or something?" He asks me.

"No. They do act like an old married couple though, don't they?" I reply. The boy nods, smiling, and looks back at his phone.

Yujin seems like a really kind kid. Something like a baby brother.

Flashback

When we were done with school, we had walked out of the building to go watch the movie, when we had found Yujin outside sitting on the marble stairs.

"Hey!" I had said with a smile on my face "don't you have class right now?"

Yujin had looked up at me with teary eyes

"Oh..." I said, not knowing what to do

"Hey kid!" Gyuvin said, walking up to the boy "anything wrong?"

"Obviously something is wrong dumbass" Ricky had said

"Shut up," Gyuvin said, and looked back at the boy "hey, you don't have to talk about it. I don't know you, but I know that being a freshman isn't easy"

Yujin had looked up at Gyuvin with admiring eyes, and then looked at me when I patted his back

"Yeah, you don't have to talk about it. How about you come with us? We're gonna watch a horror movie"

"I don't like horror movies" Yujin said with a quiet voice, being foreign to the one he had used when I had first spoken to him with Cho.

"Well, that's two of us" Gyuvin had said with a laugh

"Horror movies help to forget about your problems though. When you're watching horror movies, you're bracing yourself for the jumpscare. There's no time to think about what's troubling you" Ricky had said (btw I took that from 'one of us is lying').

I looked at Ricky with approval, and nodded at Yujin.

"It's really not that bad. It's your choice though" I had said, getting myself up from the floor.

Ricky had wiped at his jacket, before putting his bag over his shoulders and taking Gyuvin's hand, dragging him away.

"I think I'll go. I might get really scared though" Yujin said, standing up. I smile at him and pat his back

"That's the point, my friend" I said, as we followed the other two

Back to the present

"Hey Yujin," I say, making the boy look at me "Are you feeling any better?"

"Honestly, yeah. I didn't think about anything at that time other than how I was about to get a heart attack"

I laugh

"If you want you can always talk to me about your problems. I don't know any freshmen other than you and my sister, but that doesn't stop me from beating them up if they're your problem" I say

"No, don't worry. Thank you though" They boy says

He reminds me of a little brother I've never had. Someone I can take care of, and someone I will protect with my whole life. Even if I barely know the boy, and only met him a few days ago, I care for him so much.

In a way, he reminds me even a little bit of Jude, except that Yujin is sweet and kind, while Jude is a little bitch. I think that he reminds me of her only because they are the same age, and probably go to some of the same classes.

"Hey, Yujin," I say, gaining the boy's attention once again. "Do you know a girl called Jude?" I see Yujin tense a little, but bat it off

"Yeah. She's in a few of my classes," he looks at me from the side of his eye "Why?"

"I don't know. I was just curious" I say, letting the subject go.

"Alright.." we stay in silence for a bit, listening to the loud bickering happening in front of us

"By the way," Yujin interrupts the silence "are you and Cho dating?"

I choke on absolutely nothing, and look at him with wide eyes

"Uh- no. What's with the question?"

"I don't know. You guys seem sweet together" Yujin says with a smirk.

"Oh... ahahaha... no we're not dating" I say awkwardly

"Alright. But you definitely like her"

"What?"

"Just that the way you look at her makes it so obvious"

"Seriously?" I ask, confused.

"Yeah. You look at her so intensely, but not in an angry way y'know" he explains.

"What are y'all talking about?" Gyuvin says, skipping to us

"Oh, just about-"

"Nothing. No one." I say, stumbling over my words.

"Okay.." Gyuvin says, before taking his phone "Who here can walk with me to a friend's house?" he says

"Why don't you just go yourself?"

"Nuh uh. There's no way I'm walking alone. There's like really suspicious dark alleys. I don't wanna die"

"I'll go with you" Ricky says, putting his hand over Gyuvin's shoulder and giving him a wink

"No way. Anyone else?" the boy says, taking Ricky's hand off of him and looking at me and Yujin with pleading eyes

"Sorry, can't" I say "It's my turn to make dinner today"

"Yeah, I can't come either. I have a ton of homework to do" Yujin says.

"Well will you look at that! You're stuck with me" Ricky says, putting his arm around Gyuvin once again, laughing.

"Fine. You don't mind waiting though, right? Because I need you to walk me back home as well" Gyuvin says

"I don't mind. Just don't take too much time" Ricky says

"Don't worry. I just need to take something from him," he replies "we'll get going then. Bye guys"

They both walk away, waving at us.

"I'll get going as well then. Bye Hanbin!" Yujin says, with a bright smile. I wave at him, happy to see the smile back on his face.

"Bye, kid! Text me if you need anything" I say, before turning away and walking home.

I found out that the lady that cleans my house stole my Bang Chan pc loll. I guess I'll just let her keep it though cuz I have a two other ones that are the same
