[AN] this chapter is going to be from Rose's POV and is going to be told in flashbacks. It'll switch back and forth between reality and flashbacks, so I'll try to make it really clear what's what. Hope this isn't too confusing, enjoy!
I look at Ari for a moment staring into her blue-green eyes, thinking back to a year ago when Isabelle came to the school....
"Darmes, come here, we have a new recruit. Could you take her on the general tour?" The headmaster says to me. To the side of her is the new girl, I look at her and my jaw almost drops open. 'This girl is drop dead sexy' I think to myself as I walk up to them smiling.
"Of course ma'am. My pleasure," I say nodding to the headmaster. I grab one of the girls bags and heft it over my shoulder.
"Hey, so I'm Rosaline, But everyone calls me Rose," I say casually as I take her schedule in my hand, pretending to look at it but using the moment to check her out instead.
"Isabelle. Everyone calls me Isabelle except for one person back home," she says in a condescending tone. I roll my eyes.
"You better lighten up Isabelle. There are people around here who won't take that attitude of yours," I say shrugging to show I'm not one of those people. I hear her sigh quietly.
"I'm sorry. It's just been a really rough few days and I don't know how to handle all of this. I don't want to be here," she says quietly sounding genuinely sorry.
"It's okay Isabelle. It gets manageable. I didn't want to come here either," I admit. "But it gets better and you'll make a lot of friends here, it won't be your old life but it'll be one at least."
"Why did you come?" She asks me curiously as we walk.
"It was this or jail," I say chuckling, "rather be here than rotting in a cell for things I didn't do." I reply not wanting to go into detail.
"Oh," she says quietly. I nudge her with my shoulder.
"Ah, it's no big deal anymore. I've come to stop caring," I say trying to sound positive for her sake. We come to the first hallway of classrooms.
"This hallway is where your academic classes will be. You should start classes tomorrow. if you want I can walk you to your classes for the first day so you don't get lost. The hallways are a bit hard to navigate if you don't know where to go," I say looking at her schedule for real this time.
"Thank you. I would really appreciate that," she says smiling for the first time since I've seen her here.
"Smile more. It fits you," I say to her. She just laughs.
"Where next Ms. tour guide?" She asks me.
"Gym, cmon. The library is on the way too," I say taking her hand and pulling her forwards. Ari's voice cuts into my thoughts.
"There's a library? Where's that?" Ari asks looking excited.
"I'll show you later. Casey didn't show it to you?" I ask her not really surprised. She shakes her head and I laugh knowing Casey never steps foot in there anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if she forgot it was even there. I continue my story.
"So anyway, I continue walking Isabelle around showing her the library then the gym and the cafeteria."I continue starting to recall the memories again.....
"Do you know what room you are in?" I ask Isabelle when we finish the rest of the tour.
"Yeah. Dorm 4 room 37," she says and my eyes widen. I have to make sure of this.
"Seriously??" I ask her in surprise.
"Uh, yeah," she says a little awkwardly.
"They didn't tell me I was getting a roommate," I say staring at her. I ask to see her schedule again and confirm that she is, in-fact, in my room. I smile excited.
