first person pov— zeldris

Ever since we've been released, all I've been able to do was to sit and wait for my powers to recharge. My gut instinct was to find Salina as soon as I found out she was no longer in the tomb I left her in.

But I knew I wouldn't be of use until I've regained full capability of my power.

Melascula had sent out red and grey demons to ravage human towns so we could feast on their souls, allowing us to recover faster. I had no qualms with the idea since my main focus was on getting Salina. And if killing some worthless humans was the most efficient way to do that, then so be it.

The others had already gone to collect souls to devour, while I stayed behind, already having my fill for the time being.

Suddenly, my heart skipped a beat.

"What the—?"

From the corner of my eye I saw Galand flying in. Instantly, I turned toward his direction. He still seemed pretty far, but I could feel something different about him. Squinting my eyes, I could tell Galand had something in his hands. The closer he got I could tell it was a person, a woman.

Landing a bit aways from me, I instantly teleported over there.

"How dare you, Galand! Lay a hand on me without my consent again and I'll pull your soul out of that armor, shred it into tiny pieces and feed it to the damned!" The all to familiar voice scolded Galand, playfully smacking the back of his head with a leap as she always did when we were younger.

I was frozen stiff, staring at her back, her dark hair swaying with the wind.

"Ouch! I have repeatedly apologized as you kept hitting me on the way over, Sally! I just assumed you'd like to meet a certain someone." Galand had his hands in a surrender motion after massaging the back of his head.

"Salina." I whispered, still in a state of shock.

She grew stiff, slowly turning toward me. As she did, it was as if time itself slowed down. Her silver eyes met mine and I felt air finally return to my lungs. But I was still at a loss for words.

"Zeldris." She said, with a gasp, her hands going up to her mouth as tears welled in her eyes. The way my name came from her lips was like music to my ears.

As soon as she said my name, she instantly sped to me, her arms going around me neck in an embrace. Finally regaining my once muffled senses, I wrapped my arms around her waist tightly.
