.The sun lit up the streets and the beach of the small coastal town.
Taehyung was in Jungkook's cottage, with their bags packed. The elder chose a linen white shirt, clean linen pants and some laundry. In addition, he packed his own bag and put it in the trunk of the rental car.
The carved scene from last night appeared before his eyes again. He could feel himself losing his breath all over again as he sped with Jungkook in his arms. If the car had been close maybe he would have arrived sooner, but at that moment when he found him lying unconscious, his brain stopped, it just shut down.
Taehyung took Jungkook's bag in his hand when he was leaving the hospital parking lot. He barely had time to change his own clothes, he had to be next to the other as soon as possible.
- Oh Mr. Jeon, you are awake. You have a visitor. - the nurse informed the man in the bed who was connected to the infusion. Jungkook just nodded.
The girl left the room and gave way to Taehyung.
- Tae! - he finally let out his voice as he lifted his tired body into a sitting position. Every bone in his body hurt him unstoppably, but Jungkook didn't show it on his pale face.
- Love... - the older stood almost motionless for a few seconds staring at the younger man.
Jungkook looked better. The wounds on his face were cleaned and patched. He was aware at least.
As soon as he saw how Jungkook was watching him with eyes full of love, he had to do something. So, he took a few steps towards the hospital bed and settled into the white armchair.
- Tae, you're not hurt, are you? Tell me you didn't... I worried so much, love... I woke up and you weren't here... - the younger tried to look at every part of Taehyung's body to maybe notice something that would occupy his attention, but in vain. The man in front of him was physically fine.
- You lied to me, Jungkook. - a deep voice was finally heard, and when the younger looked back at his eyes, he saw Taehyung looking at the floor.
- W-what? - he stammered with furrowed brows.
- You lied to me about running together from the street. You can't imagine how I felt when I ran a hundred meters and realized that you weren't next to me. Can you imagine the fear I felt, Jungkook? - Tae didn't raise his voice at any moment. But his voice was cold and distant, just like his expression. The elder raised his head and finally looked into the dark orbs in front of him.
He saw that tears gathered in Jungkook's eyes, he could barely hold back without wiping them away with kisses.
But Tae was furious and angry. He should have been in his place. Jungkook was his love, his delicate flower that he wanted to keep and cherish forever. He was afraid that even a gentle breeze could harm him.
- Tae... I had to stop them... I tried to talk to them and give us some time until...
- You shouldn't have done that, Jungkook! I was supposed to protect you... - Jungkook flinched a little when Tae raised his voice, the tears finally slipped from his cheeks.
- But...
- No buts... I brought you some clean things from the cottage. I'm going to get us some coffee so we can have a nice chat about some things. - Jungkook nodded.
__________
After ten minutes, Jungkook heard a soft knock on the door again and before he could answer, he saw Taehyung poking his head out with two paper cups of warm liquid. The man immediately handed one to the younger who gladly accepted.
